eBay has stated within the last day or two that revising listings even to the point of creating a new listing is in line with the rules. Say you had 100 magazines with the same title, but different monthly issues or 100 Indian head pennies with different dates. It would be possible to list any 25 of either as GTC and 7 days later revise them to reflect a completely different one by simply changing the date of issue and the listing picture. You could also use a 1-3% promotion rate on a few of them to attract attention and viewers to all of them. At the end of 28 days you will have gained 75 free listings and whatever leg up in the search engines you gain from revisions.
If the items only have minor differences it will take very little time to revise them and you can easily track their individual progress and determine if you want or need to revise them. No worry about losing a few if you get sales, that is the desired result anyhow. 100 listings for the price of 25!!!!!!!!!!! This could work for any number of different items. Could even change which one are promoted with the revisions in hopes that those aren't the ones that actually sell and incur extra fees.

Is that 7-day figure a fixed number or could you choose 10-day as well, or any length?
Actually that options always been there.

there is no fixed time. You could do it every day, or 10 times a day.
Changing listings is just creating a goat rope. A confusing mess for buyer, and seller.

I don't have the time either and wouldn't mess with this if I did. I have posted this to take it to the next level for those sellers that are worried about 35 cent listing fees. I am sure it would work and am trying to help them expand their horizons. In for a penny, in for a pound.

You're right! I Wrote too quick!

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
One could also enable OOS and if the listing sells right away, just put something new and totally different in its place. Problem is buyers will be more frustrated than they already are when they click on their watched item and it is not at all what they are interested in. Just my very humble opinion. YMMV

The 7 days is just a number that would allow 4 revisions in any GTC period. If done on a specific day of the week, it would also serve as a reminder of when to revise. "Hey, it's Sunday, I better revise those listings, there is $8.75 on the line here!!!!!"

My apologies, I didn't recognize a sarcastic font

I think if a seller used OOS that they might be subject to a listing fee and defeat the purpose.

Honestly don't thin any of that matters, you are still saving 35 cents.

Nope, I use it all time for my handmade items. One XXX sold, then replaced with another XXX that is almost exactly the same, only difference is I am not a 3D printer, so there are slight differences. Only revision is changing the pictures.

Somehow, I have the disturbing feeling that if too many sellers began doing that, too often, ebay would, very possibly, take a stand and prohibit it.
Can you imagine what that could do to web-based search results, just for starters? Not to mention the possible thought of fee avoidance. And, ebay likes to tout the increase in sellers and listings to 'the street'.

Seriously. I consider my time to be worth way more than a mere 35 cents.

They would and I hope they do. Even worse, they could start a fee for any revision at all.
