Free Basic Store from eBay

Hi All.

I want to ask a question about eBay's offer, "Free Basic Store".

So I have a personal account and I use it to sell on eBay. But I received an email from eBay proposing me to get the Basic Store for Free for 3 months.

I already subscribed for this Basic Store offer as you can see in the picture below!

But my question is, after the 3 months period, will eBay charge me a monthly fee for Basic Store? Or will I resume selling back to my personal account. Because I was never interested to pay for the Basic Store after the 3 months period of Free Basic Store. And if ever they will charge me a monthly fee after the 3 months period, can I cancel it?

Please let me know.

Thanks!

@mau-collectibles-8,

If you don't want to continue with the Basic Store after the free trial, then you will have to cancel it before the promotion period ends.

If you don't cancel the store subscription, then you will be charged the subscription fee each month after the free trial ends.

For future reference, this is how ALL free trials work, whether on eBay or anywhere else.

In the screen shot that you sent us, there is a "Learn more" link that should take you to the terms and conditions of the specific offer they sent you.

Have you read those terms, and if so what do they say about your ability to cancel?

And take screen shots of every every every contract item you use,  free or not.  Things like promo deals have a way of disappering when you need them in the future.  AND never delete any of your emails on the Ebay system. Back them up monthly,  again ,  things dissappear.

Re: Free Basic Store from eBay

And remember only the listing is free, for the period of the trial.

You still pay fees for sales. You still pay fees on shipping.

You still pay fees for options and some of those fees are non-refundable.

You still pay fees for payment processing to Paypal or to Managed Payments.

I realize you may already understand this, but we see one or more angry posts every week from some member who can't figure that out.

Re: Free Basic Store from eBay

In a similar vein, I decided to try the free store thing too.  I have no intention of continuing after the free trial.  But as an afterthought, I am concerned about what happens after I cancel.  I am assuming that my active listings will continue on, but is that the case?  I understand that I would be paying listing fees, if I continue to relist.  I'm just hoping that things revert back to the way they were and I don't lose my active listings.

The only thing that will change is that your monthly "free" listings stop (go back to 50/month) and the little Store icon goes away and your FVF rate will revert to the non-Store rates.

Your existing listings will continue as usual.

That's what I thought, but just wanted some reassurance.  Thanks
