For those missing first class shipping in the new app, here’s a work around until they fix it

I was told a little bit ago by ebay iOS tech that the First Class shipping option won’t show up if the package dimensions and weight are over 15 ounces. Until they fix it, IF they fix it, you have to know all the dimensions and weight of each item and put all that in and IF it comes at 15 oz or less and IF the dimensions of the package are within First Class size limits, then and only then will the First Class option come up. Yes, it sucks and is archaic and requires a bunch of extra steps, but it is a way to get the First Class option if you have a lot of time on your hands and know what weight and size all your boxes are for each of your single items (like my doll collection of individual dolls of various weights and sizes) then it is a way to list your items with First Class shipping. I’ll be in a round room in search of a corner should anyone have any questions.

Btw, this is particularly intrusive as I don’t use ebay’s Shipping label system. I put in the postage as close a guess as I can when I list, then take them to the post office and mail from there when they sell. I use to just put in First Class and $XX which was usually within a quarter to 50 cents off depending what packing materials and box I had available. For no more margin than I get, its cheaper for me to just guess and go than to spend a lot of my time weighing and measuring and all that for one item. I have other things to do. So this requirement seems to be forcing me into ebay’s Shipping system that I want no part of. I put the cost of the shipping and whether it is First Class or Priority. I have no idea what box I’m actually using or whether I have packing peanuts, bubble wrap, or crunchy paper when I list. I’m not a retailer with a stockroom. I’m a retiree with a big doll collection and small house. Seems like ebay tries to make us all generic when they make these app changes. Grannies selling doll collections aren’t tooled up like a full blown retail operation. Duh.

Oh, PLUS, at least half my sales are multiple items, which means none of that weighing and measuring and hoop jumping matters anyway because we start all over when we combine shipping. Which is a good thing, but good grief, the busy work ebay expects from sellers that just eats up our time is just downright weird.
