Hello everyone!
the buyer from my previous post opened INR after the item was delivered!
I’m really quite scared that even though the item has signature confirmation, it doesn’t show up on the tracking number and I had to call USPS on how to a request a proof of delivery! Which shows it was delivered to the buyers address and signed for!
I wasn’t able to add the proof of delivery on the request case but I sent a message to the buyer with it, and called eBay and told them to look into it.
i got transferred to an account specialist named “David”, he assured me that since I have signature confirmation that the case will be closed in my favor within 24 hours!
however I feel as if in the 24 hours the buyer will make up some bogus excuse and get their money back!
i called eBay twice already to get them to close the case but they told them it’ll automatically be closed in 24 hours?
I’m so so worried considering it is a high value item!

Does the tracking history on USPS.com show as delivered and that a signature was collected? If so, call eBay again and ask for Trust and Safety. Tell the person that the tracking histories don't match for eBay and USPS and you are concerned that the automatic closure will go against you because eBay's system has not updated. Be insistent that they document the call, give you an SR number and an emailed transcript of the call.
Come back to either this thread or your other and let us know what happens. If the buyer continues we can make other recommendations on next steps.

Yes the tracking history does show that the item was delivered and proof of delivery has the buyers address and signature,
the tracking also seemed to have updated on eBay (but it updated last night showing as delivered)
I will go ahead and call eBay again and ask for trust and safety. Thank you so much for your advice!

Honestly, call eBay back ASAP and make them close the case while you are still on the phone. Verify they have closed it before hanging up. The amount of times I have been told one thing and had them do another is unbelievable. I feel like they just tell you what they think you want to hear so you go away.

I’m so worried! Because I called eBay atleast 10 times today
i talked with 3 account specialists, one trust and safety team, 3 supervisors and a high value claims department and they all told me the same thing
basically they told me they can’t close the case before 24 hours are up but they all assured me since I have a valid tracking number and signature confirmation that the case will be closed in my favor
the high value claims department told me that it should close out either later today or tomorrow morning in my favor and then another rep I talked to told me the case was already closed in my favor and the funds will be released back to me in 24 hours
They all told me right now they don’t have an option to escalate the case and close it in my favor but that it’ll automatically close later today or tomorrow.
I’m not sure who I should ask for, that can close the case now 😞
I did push them to document everything and requested a SR number.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. First off you are very brave for selling such an expensive item on Ebay for the simple fact that there are so many people out there that are not honest and can simply return something other that what you sent them. 2nd since the tracking is showing that it was delivered you will be fine and ebay will close the INR case with no problem. 3rd If the buyer for some reason opens a return with an item not as described make sure you send your own label that has ample shipping insurance on it because the return labels through ebay do not include that at all.

thank you for your advice! I’ve actually had sold a really expensive bag last year on eBay and that went without any issues so I was hoping for the same this time but sadly this time I was unlucky 😞
I really hope that won’t be the case! I noticed that the buyer seems to keep lying to eBay as well (through dispute message)
saying things like they’ve opened an investigation with USPS and I actually went to the post office yesterday and I talked with the lady working there who decided to look up any open claims associated with the tracking number (I wanted to get the case ID incase eBay asks for it) and there wasn’t any open investigation or claim.
I even called and spoke with the post master and the item was in fact delivered to the correct address so the claim from the buyer that the “item wasn’t delivered to their address “ is wrong.
so I don’t know what to do.
the case still hasn’t closed yet so I’ll be calling eBay shortly when it opens and find out what is going on.

AND?????? Do please update us on your ongoing saga!! Did they finally close the case? Has the customer said anything more to you? I've noticed on past returns, that the really slick buyers who do a lot of returns will make comments like yours did regarding "having gone to the USPS to open a claim"...they think it will impress Ebay on how concerned they are.....I'm worried for you, friend, hope it ends up ok for you!!

If buyer opens Item not as described after trying to get away with item not delivered, they need to really look into this kind of **bleep** before refunding.
