First timer as seller and it sucks..

Hi,

First time I used ebay to sell an item.
It has been the worst experience selling in my whole life. And I've been scammed a few times and this experience on ebay is even worse.
(I live in Sweden. Makes a huge difference apparently.)

Making the listing was a pain cause I cant really set custom shipping costs with the shipping companies I got close by, even if they're in the list. After choosing the company to use for shipping and press `accept`, it goes away after a few seconds. Everything else was fine.

Then to the customer buying the item.. It was fine and smooth as he paid it. But then as a new seller your funds are hold for over 30 days. So as I created the listing i set so that the buyer has to pay for the shipping and there was clearly a mark for me creating the listing saying that the item will be shipped after the payment is done, so that ACTUALLY means I get paid before shipping the item. Atleast the shipping cost as it was pretty expensive due to being heavy. But I found out after in the fine writing that it's not like that. I'm just supposed to pay the 100$ shipping myself and send away 1100$ worth of items. (Sold for less, but when I bought the items i sold here it was that price few years back).

After a few here and there with customer support, I was able to ship the item and it arrived. The buyer confirmed and made a feedback about it. The shipping company i used is not "integrated" with ebay so the listing(order) is still marked as "Shipped".. Not "In Transit" or "Delivered".. With the provided tracking number and a link to the shipping company's website saying it's delivered and all, ebay still cant mark it as delivered.
According to Customer Support, I as a seller should be able to mark it as "Delivered", but I cant. Neither can the buyer when asking him.

Fund still being hold. Nothing happens from ebays side. It's been 4 days(working days) since the items where delivered and confirmed. Still ebay does nothing. It's such a pain.

Selling things should not be this **bleep** **bleep**..
There should also be a easier way to get help from customer support. They are slow as **bleep** and has a hard time understanding alot of the time. They should also be able to contact the seller/buyer to help out with the orders, guide them properly.

As a first time seller here it's a pain. But to me, it seems that even later on after many good sales it will still be a pain in many ways. So many years this site has been going on and still not user friendly. Atleast for people outside of USA.

This has stressed me out so much and it should not be like that. Soon been a month and I'm loosing my mind.
Ebay is trash and i dont get how it's still rolling or even let people outside of USA be a seller..

My rant is done, I've learned alot about being a seller here but it's not for me.
Thanks..

You ACTUALLY get paid when the buyer pays, not when the money reaches your account. That’s how this site works.

Not to be harsh, but you did not perform your due diligence reviewing the T&C's and understanding how a "new" seller operates on Ebay. Starting off selling an item of that value is a huge mistake. The probability of being scammed is extremely high. I do not sell items over $300 on any platform the risk is to high as I have been on Ebay since 2005.

Being a new seller, your funds will be held for a certain period of time. This is no different than Amazo& and other platforms. That is explained in Ebay's T&C's. You failed to add a tracking number to your order, since you did not use Ebay's shipping options & purchase the label from Ebay. That is why you have an issue.

My suggestion is to go back and perform the proper research on all of Ebay's policies. Good Luck!

You'll get out of eBay how much you put in.   Selling anything anywhere is work, not play.   It's a time consuming process.  Business is a skill set.  There is not instant gratification.  You can't cut corners and expect positive results.   Protocols have to be followed and all rules and regulations need to be understood.
