I’ve been selling on eBay for 20 years. I just reported a buyer for the first time. Buyer contacted me that package wasn’t received. Tracking showed it was delivered in/at mailbox 2 days after I shipped it. I suggested buyer ask neighbors in apartment complex if they received it in error, ask the post office, etc. My antenna started tingling when buyer dug in and said I was “a sketchy seller.” Buyer is new to eBay too.
I would have worked out a refund if not for the tracking info.
I reported buyer but didn’t know I needed to include the tracking number. I assumed eBay could access it. Their reply just says they’ll take it from here but I won’t know the outcome.
Is there anything else I can do now? I don’t like not knowing if buyer will get dinged or if I need to do anything to close it out on my end. I’m concerned about negative feedback.
It’s really disappointing that eBay offers more protection for buyers.

When you reported the buyer to eBay, had the buyer actually opened a case with eBay, or was he just inquiring about his item?
IMHO a buyer asking about his item or filing an "Item Not Received" dispute is not reason to "report" the buyer.
Tracking is not perfect, and just because your tracking means you will "win" the dispute does not mean that the buyer actually got his item. It just means that you can safely move on and leave the buyer unhappy if you want to.

IMO ebay never does anything to a buyer unless they have hundreds of policy violations then I am even suspect at that.
Don't worry about anything. If it shows delivered you should be good to go. You can call USPS and ask for the coordinates/exact address the package was delivered. It may have been misdelivered.

This is just ME and my 2 pennies.
Even though signature confirmation is not needed on anything under $750, I always spend that $3.50 or so on SIGNATURE confirmation on anything over $200 or so. So, I have proof that the buyer or someone in the household signed for it, or they picked it up and signed at the PO.
So depending on the price of the items you're selling, it may be worthwhile and to save you from getting a headache. Just one headache, like the one you're having now is worth the sig confirm.

There is nothing to report. You already did what you could do which was provide tracking. Ebay told you they will take it from there. They will either tell the buyer sorry you lose, or they will give the buyer a courtesy refund.

Many buyers will be very unhappy and most likely give you a negative feedback for doing that. You had better make sure you bold and highlight in your description warning buyers they may have to take a day off work to be home to sign for their item.

I don’t like not knowing if buyer will get dinged
--------------------------------------------------------
I can tell you nothing is going to happen to the buyer.
I can also tell you that it's possible the buyer hasn't got the item.
Tracking showed delivery to my address, but I didn't receive the item. I did get courtesy refund though..

No it isn't, I don't appreciate having to run to the Post Office for something I thought would show up at my door, I'm sure you don't care but with the advent of private feedback I am no longer concerned about sellers going through my "feedback left for others" to try and pre-screen me as a buyer.

I appreciate your reply.
No, the buyer hadn’t opened a case and said she was unable to file an INR. Probably because it was marked as received.
Something seems off. My suggestions for help weren’t acknowledged. She just keeps demanding a refund and escalating the situation.
I reported her because the tracking showed delivered, she was unwilling to work with me, and she threatened my feedback.
I was more more than willing to give the benefit of the doubt until she called me sketchy. I take pride in selling and customer service.

I tried to help remedy the situation. The buyer’s answers didn’t add up or I got no reply.
I didn’t like reporting her but didn’t see another option when she threatened my feedback.
