First sale - need help please!

Hi,

I just got my first sale on Ebay.  I'm told to wait to be paid before shipping and confirmed on my PayPal account that I have not yet been paid.  Just got an email saying the customer has paid.  Went to the order to print a shipping label and was told not to do so until the customer pays.  I'm confused!

Thanks in advance.

Never, and I mean NEVER, depend on an email to verify that you have been paid.  Go directly to your Paypal account. Do NOT click links in an email. Log into Paypal in a new browser window, make sure that the payment is in your Paypal account. If you don't see the payment, you have NOT been paid. Yes, even payments that are on hold will show up.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

System is usually in sync with email stating you have been paid and ability to purchase shipping label.

Maybe wait a few minutes and try again.  It has always be instant that I could purchase the shipping after being notified that I have been paid.

Check your actual paypal account to make sure the payment is there.

Never rely on email notifications. Email can be spoofed to make it look like it came from just about anyone. Always log into your account independently (not through links in emails) and verify.

That being said ...

You should double-check that the email address you put in your listing was spelled correctly and that this email is correctly configured in your PayPal account.

Re: First sale - need help please!

One more question, I think I saw somewhere that I might not actually get the funds until early May as the funds will be held due to my new seller status.  Will Paypal show that I've been paid, but funds are being held, so I can go ahead and ship?

Thanks again,
