Hi All,
I have activated selling on my account. I am looking forward to sell health and beauty items such as balms, scrubs, moisturizers etc which are unique items produced in my country. I am bit confused to list it on ebay with its brand name since I have heard that selling branded items are prohibited on ebay. I checked VERO items but the brand name is not there. Further this product is being sold by some other sellers as well. Can you help on the followings?
1) Should I get a permission from E-bay to list this item. If it is so, how to do it?
2) Will my account get suspended if I listed this item?

Can you explain it to me?
Hello and welcome.
Selling branded items is preferable on eBay. The brand is a key identifier and well-known brands draw shoppers to one’s listing. Unbranded generic items can be hard to sell as they are missing that important keyword.
Vero is a program to prevent sellers from infringing on other’s intellectual property rights. The policy does not prohibit the use of most brand names.
You can safely list your Sri Lankan cosmetics and beauty/health products by their brand name, without fear of suspension or violation of policy.

@anmadushanka, we have already explained it.

One more point - if you intend to source these items from Sri Lanka and ship them to other Countries, please do research and what is and is not allowed to be shipped, etc.
Also, when we were outside the US a few years back - we too purchased items to bring back and re-sell and quickly realized none of the items we were about to purchase had expiration dates as they do in the U.S. To sell on e-Bay and other sites, it will ask for and expect the product to often have an expiration date and expired cosmetics cannot be sold (or are not supposed to be) on the site.
Lastly, I brought home quite a bit of LaMer cosmetics for personal use. The packaging and look was very different (same products, but packaging outside the US was really different). Point being, it may be a legit item, but if you tried to sell it here, it would potentially draw a SNAD because it looked different. Fine for my personal use, but would not have tried to sell any of it, etc
Also - today, even Costco carries LaMer.....just saying some of what used to be exclusive to obtain is really not any more.
Good luck!

You can resell the cosmetics you purchased from a retail store and use the brand name. Keep the receipts.

I notice you Sri Lankans have lovely smooth brown skin.
I am a pastey white American from Alabama. Do you offer any creams or ointments that will make me look like I am from Sri Lanka?

Do you know what Velcro is? Did you know if you use the word Velcro in a listing eBay will pull it and likely sanction you??? Rules are there for a reason and I don't understand why you are fighting the people you asked for help.

FYI, this was edited by someone else who removed some of what I typed. I don't believe this verbiage was against the community guidelines.
IIRC, this was something like:
"It gets very old posting the same reply over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again."

If you know the answer why are you asking the question?

Velcro is a type of fastener originally patented by Velcro also called hook-and-loop fastener. 😁

Yes, and if you say hook and loop fasteners for an eBay listing, that’s fine, if you say Velcro, your listing could get VeRO’d
