Hi, I recently had my first ebay sale, item was sold for $850 so it's not something I can just brush off and refund the money to avoid dealing with a claim or whatever ebay does for these situations if the buyer takes it to that extent. As of right now, he just sent a request asking if I shipped the item because it says delivered, but he hasn't received it. FedEx site/tracking shows delivered and signed, the signature FedEx has on file also shows the buyers name, I find it odd that he's claiming it wasn't delivered with all that proof. I mean, what else could've happened? Did the driver go to a different address and someone knew his name and or looked at the label and forged his signature? Hopefully it's something that can be solved properly.
I sent a message back letting him know that it was shipped and delivered, that it required a signature, shows it was signed by him and I have proof of all this through FedEx.
Any help/advice on this situation is appreciated!

It's because ppl keep talking about losing the item AND the money, we keep trying to tell them you're not out both but they don't listen.

You need to find the Open Request/Case here:
https://res.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ResolutionCenter
Click "See details," then enter the tracking number on this following screen:
(this is on a desktop, not sure what it would look like anyplace else, also you'd select Fedex not USPS)

Does this mean the buyer “found” the package?

The buyer confirmed they received the item. No more messaging is required. Move on and forget the buyer. All is good.

Bingo! I am glad that this worked out for you. You were very smart to at least purchase signature confirmation.
My advice is that if you continue to sell items of this type of value here on eBay, I highly recommend that you switch to a USPS shipping service and purchase Adult Signature Restricted Delivery.
This service requires the actual buyer to show a government issued id before they are able to sign for and receive their package. So because of this requirement the buyer is actually identifying themselves to a federal employee (USPS mail carrier). At the end of the day Adult Signature Restricted Delivery service will provide you with much better protection for transactions like these, versus the regular signature confirmation service.
With this service, your item is delivered only after the addressee or their authorized agent verifies their identity, proves that they’re 21 years of age or older, and signs for it.
- Add this service to your qualifying online label purchase.
- Not available for purchase at Post Office locations.
- Before delivery, the recipient must show an acceptable primary ID with a clear photo.

Adult Signature Restricted Delivery Details
$6.90
USPS Signature Services include Signature Confirmation, Signature Confirmation Restricted Delivery, Adult Signature Required, and Adult Signature Restricted Delivery, all of which are subject to the basic standards in 1.0; see 1.4 for eligibility. Some statutes governing the mailing of legal documents may require the use of Certified Mail or Registered Mail rather than USPS Signature Services. USPS Signature Services are available as follows:
- Signature Confirmation provides the mailer with information about the date and time an article was delivered or the date and time of the delivery attempt. A delivery record (including a signature) is maintained by USPS and is available electronically or by email upon request. The Signature Confirmation is available as a Retail option: Available at Post Offices at the time of mailing; a mailing receipt is provided. Electronic option: Available to mailers who establish an electronic link with the USPS to exchange acceptance and delivery data; no mailing receipt is provided.
- Signature Confirmation Restricted Delivery provides the same service as provided under item a and permits a mailer to direct delivery only to the addressee (or addressee’s authorized agent). The addressee must be an individual (natural person) specified by name. The mailer may request Insured Restricted Delivery at the time of mailing by advising the USPS clerk or by marking the mail “Restricted Delivery” above the address and to the right of the return address and paying the applicable fee. A firm mailer must enter the proper fee in the correct column of the firm sheet and place the required endorsement on the mail piece.
- Adult Signature service provides electronic confirmation of the delivery or attempted delivery of the mail piece and signature of the recipient, who must be 21 years of age or older. Prior to delivery, the recipient must provide an acceptable primary form of identification as specified under 608.10.3. The USPS maintains a record of delivery (including the recipient’s signature) for two years. The Adult Signature options are:
- Adult Signature Required — provides delivery to a person who is 21 years of age or older. Upon delivery, an adult who is 21 years of age or older must provide one of the forms of identification listed above and provide a signature for receipt of the mail piece.
- Adult Signature Restricted Delivery—provides Adult Signature Required with the additional restriction of limiting delivery to a specific addressee or authorized agent who is 21 years of age or older. If the specific individual is not 21 years of age or older, the mail piece will be returned to sender.

Looks like this is resolved, but 100% on FedEx, if they deliver to wrong address and have driver sign. Delivery signature means to the buyer. You can also ask buyer if OK to ship to FedEx center, where they must sign. Very helpful if you take pictures of the item before packaging to show condition, or better, a movie. Take pictures of the box and label. Ebay is not helpful if you have scammer buyer.

EBay doesn't care about pictures. Both photos and movies can be edited.
The tracking number and the Signature Confirmation are what they look at.

Yes it would be almost $2k. They have the item but claim to not so the seller wouldn't get the item back. Item value $850, and if they would have to refund that also would be $850. So loss would total $1700 not counting shipping if that wasn't included in the sellers posted total.

Not really. It means that the system took your tracking and automatically ruled in your favor. The buyer can appeal the case or turn to PayPal and try again. Best keep all corispondance and if it were me I'd block the buyer from bidding on anything else of yours just to be on the safe side.
