Did you mean:

First class $2.29

I bought a bottle of lotion. The shipping rate was $2.29 First Class. According to Endicia even a 1-oz package costs more than that. Was the seller eating part of the shipping to be competitive?

LOL

My mom's was "don't make me stop this car"...  I'm old enough she had no issues busting our backsides in public 😉

I hate photobucket right now... PS Answers given years ago may or may not be current now, please check with current posters to the boards to see if the information is still relevant.

Re: First class $2.29

If they are making enough profit on the item itself, then $2.29 shipping ok.  Strange but ok.

What i don't understand is when i see someone selling a item that will cost $4 to $5 to ship for 99 cents with $2.29 shipping. Even if their cost on the item $0, they are still loosing money.

Other than negligence, how do you explain that?

Why not ask the seller?

Re: First class $2.29

This whole thread has got me confused. I went back and read it again.  LOL

I haven't had my morning coffee yet, as a matter of fact i haven't even slept yet.

It seems the OP is puzzled why a seller would charge $2.29 shipping for an item that will clearly cost more than that to ship.

Was the seller eating part of the shipping to be competitive?  Perhaps.

Other possible explanations:

The seller is making enough profit on the lotion to take a loss on the shipping. But then why $2.29?

The seller ball-parked the shipping charges and ball-parked too low.

The seller is a old timer and back then it used to cost $2.29.

Who knows?

Have a great day everybody and stay safe!

Hawaii isn't the OP.

Re: First class $2.29

I agree that media rate is pretty bad. I sent out some kid's books over 3 weeks ago and still no arrival.  Just says "in transit." I've emailed my buyer twice since I tell each buyer that I monitor their packages and, so far, they've been patient.
