First NARU in a long time...

So I haven't had it happen for a long time now that I've purchased something from someone who all of a sudden went NARU, but this has me a little bit concerned.

I made two purchases from someone who seemed nice enough and their profile looked fine and dandy and etc last night. They even gave me a shipping discount which I inquired about days prior.

However,  you can see what the message reads in the screenshot. I can't open a case yet, obviously since I just bought these yesterday. I realize it says not to worry, but, should I really not worry?

Just wondering what my best course of action at this point would be, and also wondering why or how this would happen if I should still expect to receive what I paid for, which is what that message seems to indicate.

First NARU in a long time...

I generally don't "accept as solution" replies to my own topics, but to avoid confusion I am going to do that here.

I opened the case for "item not received through ebay", and within 15 minutes received the automated message: "We issued you a full refund of C $14.00 on May 12, 2018 to your PayPal account. The refund includes the purchase price plus original shipping."

So, if anyone reading this finds yourself in a similar situation, hopefully you should be able to immediately open up the item not received case, type the reason in that the user is no longer registered and you want a refund, and you should be refunded very quickly.

And just for anyone who may be wondering... yes... I did log in to Paypal and verify I received the refund. Smiley Wink

Thanks to everyone for the great support and advice!

Wait it out. If it does not arrive by latest delivery date, file INR with ebay.

This is beside the point, and, admittedly not helpful, but I think it's incongruous that eBay says the listing's been removed, the seller has been de-registered, but your transaction should move along swimmingly.

Really? Because I would think it probably wouldn't.

Has anyone reading this thread had a similar situation? Where the listing's been pulled, the seller NARUed but they received their purchase with no issues? I'd be interested to hear if that really happens.

And good luck on this one, @jonathankirkland.

Yes, it happened to me once. The seller had posted  in a thread on this board, someone else here disagreed with them and had enough "pull" to immediately get their account NARUed. I had purchase some stuff from them a few days earlier but decided to just wait it out and see what happened. I got my items with no problem at all and within a week the seller was back online again.

The message OP got was basically what I got from eBay as well.

Additionally, how am I supposed to contact a seller who is NARU? Email their Paypal email? No thanks. Smiley Very Happy

In order to keep the sales proceed, seller must ship the items else you can file item notr received with EBAY in 30 days,Paypal or cc issuer in 180 days.

Most sellers want to keep the sales $$.

If they have the items on hand, they will ship.

you choose to buy in a fleamarket, you take your chances

Yes I understand about opening a case if needed, thank you.

It's just this particular transaction seems rather bizarre to me with the messages shown in the screenshot.

They have not shipped yet so it just shows "No estimate available".

You could open an INR case in Paypal if you just want to be rid of it and find another seller.   Best to do that before the seller ships.  You really should not be worried, you can definitely get your money back.

Sorry, that is not going to happen either.  For some reason, even though they have declared themselves different companies,  PayPal no longer shows the email for ebay sellers.  You won't know why the ID was Naru'd.  Could be they just didn't pay their bill, or their account was hacked and the Naru status will remain until it gets straightend out.

Since they won't be able to ship through eBay, there won't be any shipping updates ... and since the listing is pulled, there is no longer any reference to handling time or shipping method.

They can still ship through PayPal, so keeping an eye on the PP transaction is the best bet.

If there's no update in PP after a reasonable time has passed, I would just file the INR with PayPal.

Well this particular item is something that I got a pretty decent price on and something I would want more than one of, so it's not something that I need urgently and is something I only want one of, so waiting it out is okay for me.

But yes I am sure I will get the money back at some point. I just found their message that I posted in the screenshot very bizarre.

Thanks!

Yes I have read that on these boards.

However it must not be true in all cases, because I can clearly see the sellers ebay ID & email address in Paypal. Again, not that I would email outside of ebay for any reason anyhow, but it is there.

Yes that is a very good point.

Again, I refer to the screenshot and how bizarre that message is.

There are so many things that point to I should absolutely worry so I have no idea why they would generate such a message.

In my opinion since the listing was pulled, I should have been auto-refunded through Paypal. But maybe ebay cannot enfroce or guarantee such a thing since they are now seperate companies? Who knows.
