Has anyone else noticed that without fanfare----Ebay finally has stopped including the tax paid in computing the final value fee percentage?? If I'm not mistaken, that's what was happening before. Now they subtract the tax first and only the item cost (plus shipping if buyer paid) is used in the formula. Maybe all our complaints actually worked!

I understood the post. The formula used to compute the FVFs does include the sales tax. A calculator may help you out with this.

"Okay, maybe some of you did not understand the post. I said nothing about them not charging tax. I said the formula that is used to compute the final value fee seems to not be including the tax that was paid... but only the sale price and the shipping cost. At one time many of us were complaining because eBay included the tax in Computing the fee and then the tax of course was deducted from the earnings."
"Many of us", including me, read your first post and completely understood what you were saying.
Most of those of us who did so still don't understand how you came to your conclusion: the final value fee percentage "seems" to have been calculated on the total paid by your buyer less the sales tax that was paid by your buyer.
You can prove your point by showing an example of an eBay sale in which (1) the buyer paid sales taxes, (2) eBay deducted the amount of those sales taxes from the total amount paid by the buyer, and then (3) eBay's FVF percentage was applied to the remainder.
Until then, it seems to me you are just trying to spread a wild rumor.

I think you are misunderstanding what most everyone is saying. I'm pretty sure they are stating the only way ebay isn't charging fvfs on the sales tax is if no sales was charged for some reason to begin with. I just double checked my most recent sale and was charged fvfs on the sales tax as usual.

Wouldn't it be nice if this were, in fact, true? And wouldn't it be nice also if the OP would return and show us at least just one example of the change he claims eBay has made?
And is he/she unaware that such a change on the part of eBay would decrease their income considerably?
