Although a member over 20 years I have not sold anything for 9 months but have been a buyer. Received notice that my electric shaver had sold. I was happy until I got notice that ebay needed my bank account number. What? Then I saw the 12.5% Final Value fee. I was not aware of these changes. I quess my fault.
I had problems with my last 2 purchases and tried to get a refund ( with ebays 100% refund guarantee). ebay would not give me a refund or a Reason.
I always told my friends that I was an ebay girl and did not buy thru Amazon. Sadly I will not be selling thru ebay. Way too expensive. Also I cannot trust their rating system.

The FVF has not changed.
It is slightly less than when PayPal was the processer. Most sellers just didnt notice because they paid no attention to how much PayPal took.

20+ year seller/buyer here
not upset with Managed Payments
If you kept track of your PP payments before you would see that it has not changed
I do not understand why so many sellers now complain because they never kept records of sales before

it's important when one does business with a company to stay current with ever changing criteria or be left behind
ebay separated itself from PP processing payments and now has their own payment system
it is about the same fee as when ebay charged about 10% and PayPal charged their 2-3+%
here is the link for their Managed Payments info, which was introduced as a beta program about 3 yrs ago >
as far as refunds, ebay makes it very easy, all you have to do is open a return item case, here is the link>
Good Luck!

So you were happy with 10% to eBay and 2.9% to PayPal, but 12.55% to eBay and 0.0% to PayPal is insane.
Sure, whatever. Bye.

Hi @elf78
You previously paid 12.9% in combined fees when PayPal was processing buyers' payments for you ... so a 12.5% fee is slightly less.
I guess that discovering that you had to provide a checking account number to receive your funds for the item you sold was a surprise ... but you will need to have a bank account available if you sell on another venue ... AND the fees will be higher. [PayPal is only processing payments on smaller venues currently ... so you will be sacrificing 'exposure' if you want to stay with PayPal.]
You didn't mention what kind of problems you had with your last 2 purchases. It surely would be helpful for others to know the type of situation would cause a buyer to lose TWO disputes, because that is so very rare. Also, if you explain what happened ... we may be able to offer an alternative way to obtain a refund.
Anyway, good luck to you ... whatever you decide to do. You need to do what is right for YOU ... but I recommend you check out the alternatives carefully, as I don't think you'll find lower fees unless you move to something like Craigslist.

Yep, you failed to read all the Announcements on the SH Overview page that eBay posted on the new Managed Payments. There were more than just one - several pre-announcements prior to implementation. Yep it pays to read.
But here is a link to read and get up to date and more informed.
BTW Read all the embedded links too. Any questions just ask on this chat board.

One more thing I had to give by checking account number too PayPal as a back-up to my PayPal account. As a money processor PayPal is in the history books as far as eBay is concerned.

Yes, but your money was immediately available, not off in an account for 3-4 days making money for eBay.

If you want to believe they make money (which they don't) off of it, fine , no one is going to change your mind.

Do gas stations or other stores make interest on the money between the time your credit card is swiped and the time the transaction is completed? No. because they don't have the money yet.

eBay uses Adyen that is not eBay's owned. They are a foreign company. eBay felt it better to use a foreign third part processor over an American one.
