Someone made a purchase from me on a buy it now with immediate payment required yesterday, then sent me a message this morning claiming they accidentally made the purchase and wanted to cancel. I obliged by cancelling the order and their money was automatically refunded. I then received a message from ebay stating that I would receive a final value fee credit which I "can apply towards listing more items to sell on ebay". I never incur any listing fees, so my question is, can I apply this credit towards seller fees or do I need to just request that they issue me a refund instead of a credit?

It will just be a credit applicable to anything......they've had the same verbiage forever, not realizing many don't ever pay for listings these days.

Credit received will zero out the FVF that the charged when the buyer paid. Basically, at this point there is nothing to credit.

Thanks for the quick replies. That verbiage definitely had me thinking it might turn into an ordeal for me to get those fees dismissed. I'm glad to hear it should resolve itself. I'll keep an eye on my next invoice to make sure though.
You can just click on "account".
Click on "all activity"
You should see the charge, and the credit there already.
