Final Reminder: Update your account details by May 21st to continue listing

So, I got this message in my eBay inbox today, May 13. It's the first such message about moving my account to the new billing/payment system, yet it's giving ultimatums such as "If you miss the deadline, your Good ‘Til Canceled listings will be removed soon after."

Inside it's threatening to disable other selling functionality if I don't comply within 8 days. And here's the clincher: Clicking the "Get started" button leads to a page that says, "We'll notify you. We’re not yet ready for you to update your account details. We’ll send you an email and a notification in My eBay when you can get set up."

Great job, eBay. You have until May 20th. If you miss the deadline, I will remove my seller account soon after. ;o)

Final Reminder: Update your account details by May 21st to continue listing

Update: eBay hasn't contacted me (yet), though the message on their "not ready" page indicated they would once they were "ready" for me to sign up for MP. Maybe I'll receive something in the coming days.

Nevertheless, I clicked the same "Get Started" button in the message eBay sent the other day to see if anything changed and this time arrived at a page that leads to an on boarding process. So, problem solved, at least for my case.

This has been on the horizon for years, it is ebays gentle way of nuding all sellers into MP from Paypal. It's not something 'new'.

I really cannot understand the dozens (and probably more) who would throw away their selling career here rather than take 5 minutes (max) to open a new checking account with their financial institution.

This is not about accounts. Read my message again.

I got a similar message about 2 weeks ago that gave me until 28 May to sign up.  No threats in my message about removing my GTC listings.   I didn't try clicking on the link to get started so don't know where that would have led.   I guess I must be special in ebay's eyes?

Hi alcoforever. Can you click the Get Started button to see if you're able to even start the process? It'd be helpful to know if the signup is totally broken or just for some sellers.

So if we received that message, then we have to follow that, right?

@bitseeker

Go to the Payments tab in the Seller Hub and see if you can sign up from there.

That's where I went to sign up.

Have a great day.

I just went back and clicked the Get Started button.   It worked as expected, taking me first to a page to verify my name and address, and then a page to enter my birthdate and SSN and then a page to enter my bank info.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ken. Unfortunately, nothing there to initiate signup. They must really not be ready, despite threatening to remove my listings. Hopefully, they get their act together soon.

Hi NguyenP,

Yes, if you want to continue selling on eBay, then you need to get yourself set up on the new payment system. Hopefully, the process actually starts for you.

I have been trying to signup for a month but can not be cause of the glitches. Been on the phone 2 times with mp csr but no solution to the problems. Because of their errors I will be restricted from selling.

And just like that you have been hijacked to Managed Payments. Did you finish it and add your banking information so you can get paid because when I look at your listings you are now in Managed Payments because I see GPay on your listings.
