Final Reminder: Update your account details by May 21st to continue listing

So, I got this message in my eBay inbox today, May 13. It's the first such message about moving my account to the new billing/payment system, yet it's giving ultimatums such as "If you miss the deadline, your Good ‘Til Canceled listings will be removed soon after."

Inside it's threatening to disable other selling functionality if I don't comply within 8 days. And here's the clincher: Clicking the "Get started" button leads to a page that says, "We'll notify you. We’re not yet ready for you to update your account details. We’ll send you an email and a notification in My eBay when you can get set up."

Great job, eBay. You have until May 20th. If you miss the deadline, I will remove my seller account soon after. ;o)

Ebay Managed Payments is sort of like an annoying little child with these emails. I got my first one on May 6 giving me a deadline of May 28. Then on May 11 I get a reminder email which was a little more "encouraging".

Now I'm sort of curious what the next email reminder will be like! LOL

Hi alcoforever. Can you click the Get Started button to see if you're able to even start the process? It'd be helpful to know if the signup is totally broken or just for some sellers.

I just went back and clicked the Get Started button.   It worked as expected, taking me first to a page to verify my name and address, and then a page to enter my birthdate and SSN and then a page to enter my bank info.

And just like that you have been hijacked to Managed Payments. Did you finish it and add your banking information so you can get paid because when I look at your listings you are now in Managed Payments because I see GPay on your listings.

I finished the process but I didn't fill in any info at all.   At the end I got a "congratulations you are now in MP" message.   I think my selling days are over but no big deal.   My last sale here was over 3 years ago anyway.

Yup, looks like no problem for you as the bogus listings on your ID should never sell😊

You should be fine unless the muffler cat sells.  It's the payment payout that gets tricky - clearly ebay let's new sellers sign up, but collecting the payout seems to be the disconnect.  At least based on the repetitive posts on the boards.  Lol

Hopefully your listings stay put for a while.

I'm rather miffed that I can not get the muffler bearing before Jan 4th:)

Also, I wanted to ask about combined shipping on items, but as they are scattered about the country, I see that will not be possible.

I'd be upset if I couldn't get the cat! I love gray cats.

I certainly hope they don't.   Don't know if I could even find the things I used for the photos.  Those listings have been up for a little over a year.    Normally I only used auction format but when ebay came out with GTC, I just had to try it.

@readabouthorses

I had heard that it was hijacking those that began the process. Expect the same, @bitseeker. Good luck.

Getting the money doesn't seem to me to be a big problem.   On paypal, I never transferred the money to my bank until the end of the month after I paid my ebay invoice.  I also left some in paypal in case I got a return.  So the delay with MP is a non-issue for me.   What is a big issue is that apparently MP puts the money in the bank with no indication of where it came from in terms of buyer or item number.   That would make the bookkeeping a nightmare for me.

The breakdown of each "payout" is available on eBay.

Attach to the sales order an eBay payout report with multiple orders?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Highlight or circle just the items pertaining to the order and run a tape?

Re: Final Reminder: Update your account details by May 21st to continue listing

Update: eBay hasn't contacted me (yet), though the message on their "not ready" page indicated they would once they were "ready" for me to sign up for MP. Maybe I'll receive something in the coming days.

Nevertheless, I clicked the same "Get Started" button in the message eBay sent the other day to see if anything changed and this time arrived at a page that leads to an on boarding process. So, problem solved, at least for my case.

Re: Final Reminder: Update your account details by May 21st to continue listing

I am so frustrated. I updated my account maybe a month ago. Ebay sends me to a link that shows my purchases. I cant get to link and I have tried to contact them several ways but my problem is not on their selections. I have tried entering answer not found but that does not work either. It is so ridiculous to try to run a company with zero customer service. I wish they would fix this disastrous model. sum up: need to update account but glitches are stopping and no way to reach customer service. Huge waste of my time!
