You did not really ask a question. You basically complained about fees that are made clear by Ebay before you listed your first item. There are countless reasons to criticize Ebay, but fees are not one of them. And you did receive some mild criticism, but that hardly amounts to "an attack".

The minimum is 10%.
It just matters what you total income is .

Plus the 15% self employment tax. This is social security & medicare. When you work for someone your employer pays half of this, & the employee pays the other half. When you earn the income on your own, you pay the full 15%.
But, there are many other factors that come into play when calculating your total tax %.

The only question you asked was, "[Is] anyone else concerned on how much ebay is gouging with fees?"
The answers you got were people saying they're okay with the fees, which said fees they know in advance of listing and which said fees are about the same as they are for other on-line marketplaces (much lower, of course, than in most B&Ms.)
No one attacked you.
No one knew that you did not want an answer to your question, or discussion about fees, or suggestions on how you can choose items to sell that are more suited to the fee structure and / or how adjust your pricing to reflect the fees. No one knew you wanted only validation of your opinion that they're too high.

I understand the hyperbole, but I think there are quie a few people who post questions here who truly no nothing about income tax and may take you at your word. You know that the amount of income tax anyone pays on his net profit from eBay depends entirely upon that taxpayer's particulars, and ranges from zero on up, but some may not know that.

No, it's $14.63 for a $113.40 transaction. Not for a $75.00 transaction.

simple question.....(not being confrontational)
based on that example did it not cost me 14.63 to sell a 75.00 item?

You should have been prepared before you ever started to sell. You should have known. So this isn't eBay's fault, it's yours. And many sites are much higher, so pay attention.

Please don't mislead people. She sold an item for $75 and the fees to do so was around 20%. I understand you are trying to justify the fees are cheap but at least let people know ahead of time they are approximately 20%. It makes it so much easier when figuring your selling cost before you list.

As eBay's fee's are totally transparent I think the word ''gouging'' in your OP is the cause of many responses regarding knowing the fee's before you started.
It is not gouging when you have agreed to the fee's when you registered to sell here.
I will say though, I checked your listings and I love that little teapot - you have some lovely items.

Yes, eBay is making more profit than the sellers. It's ridiculous

That's the thing I hate about ebay.
They don't tell you what the fees are until AFTER you start selling.

Only if you do not know what you are doing is this true.
