Does eBay charge their fee by combining value of the item AND the shipping we charge the buyer and add them together and charge on the total?

Fees

Those 2 items PLUS sales tax paid by the buyer.

Item $10

Shipping $5

Tax $1

Total is $16.

Fee is based on the $16.

@333crystal

Their fee's are based on the total amount the buyer pays.

Yup, you get charged a % fee on any amount the buyer pays including cost of item, shipping and taxes.

So you can get taxed on it again too, I offered free shipping when I sold and my fees and cost of sales were consistently between 25%-35% which is very high. But it was a competitive area.

What crooks. A percent of the shipping and tax which seller does not get. We get the mo ey for shipping, but have to PAY it to the shipping vendor who ships it!
