Feeling defeated. Glad I am not alone!

I just wanted to thank everyone who is speaking up about how let down they feel by this platform. I have 2 premium stores and really have not a clue what I am paying for?!? I am up for my yearly renewal in a couple days and made the sad decision to downgrade in one of my stores. Then start spreading my wings. I just don't know how a platform that has been around for so long is having so many issues while other platforms speed ahead. And in all honesty, ebay seems to be a little tone deaf when it comes to the frustration from sellers. We are not stupid, we see patterns..problems, glitches...yet ebay acts like a Doctor treating a patient complaining of serious symptoms and responding with.."well, we will go ahead and give you this..but there's nothing wrong..it's all in your head." Please feel free to comment with any recent glitches you are experiencing. Communication between sellers IMO is very important at this time.

I finally broke down today. I honestly don't know what I'm going to do. My main selling ID hasn't sold anything in 6 days. I literally have no money coming in. I used my last funds to pay my Ebay bill. I don't know what I'm going to do.

I'll suggest you move on ASAP! I used to have great sales on this site but no more. I'm getting daily sales now from another platform I've just started using. This place is dead and cannot be revived. Run away from the corpse because it's a vampire!

Feeling defeated. Glad I am not alone!

Hello,

So I have read through all of the posts and replies on this discussion and have a question.  I have something that I would like to point out that I have a feeling is affecting everyones businesses on eBay.  I have no idea where to post this and I am sorry if this is not the place.  Maybe someone could message me and let me know if it should be posted somewhere else.

It would be great if myself or someone else could literally pick up the phone and talk to an intelligent person at eBay that would be able to follow along with this and then maybe say something back like "WOW, I see what you are talking about and please let me get with our internal developers and get back with you".  However I know this is laughable and will never ever happen, but I do not understand why.  Many of these things can be fixed.

Ok so if you do not mind please follow along with me here.

Most all searches for products start out if not on Amazon then on Google.  The problem that I see and the reason that my own business has severely dropped off, is because eBay is linking their Google search results to incorrect breadcrumbs.  Here follow me on this one product.

If I go to Google and type in "SAS Free Time Black 8.5 WW" then the 3rd result down in the organic searches is for eBay.  However when you click on this link I am brought to an eBay page with only 291 results.  Even though I have the best selling listing for this particular SAS shoe in this color, size, and width, my listing is nowhere to be found.

Here is the reason.  If you look at the breadcrumb search across the top of the eBay page you will see the following "eBay > Clothing, Shoes & Accessories > Women's Shoes > Women's Flats > Sas Free Time Black"

This does sellers like me no good.  The reason being is that the SAS Free Time is not considered a flat.  It should either be under "Comfort" or maybe "Oxfords", however many sellers are going to list it under so many different options in eBay.

SO eBay should be smart enough to have this Google search just link to "Women's Shoes > SAS > Free Time".  Or how about just querying all of eBay for "SAS Free Time" and delivering the results??????

Remember when I mentioned up above that this Google search result that I clicked on only delivered 291 results and that my listing was nowhere to be found.  This would be for all of their results for the SAS Free Time according to them, because once again if you follow the breadcrumb trail, it is only pulling in the "Free Time" results from the women's flats category.  However the average person would never know this and just think to themselves that they do not have what they are looking for.

Well guess what?  If you just go into eBay and type into the search bar across the top "SAS Free Time", you will get 1,325 results.  These Google searches that drop shoppers into truncated incorrect search results on eBay are killing all of our businesses.  If I had 20 minutes face to face with someone at eBay that cared to understand this, then they would see the light.

If someone wants to give me the title name of one of their best selling products that has greatly decreased in sales lately then please just let me know.  I can most likely show you very similar problems with your product.

WORSE YET, once a seller is dropped into one of these incorrect search results, they cannot even use the left hand navigation in eBay, as these are only going to narrow down the choices in that breadcrumb trail.  Which in my case is the flats.

I hope this makes sense.  This would be so easy to fix it is not even funny.  This was not always like this and it is killing sellers.

Thank you,

theShoeDawg

@fiftyshadesoffashion   One of 3 accounts is doing fine ... one of 3 accounts is for a part time seller ... one of 3 accounts tanked because of eBay's changes beginning in March ... it went from Basic Store to Entry Store to 50 Freebies per month and as soon as I have time I will empty the ID of items to sell.  It is very sad to have spent 12 months building it up to the low 5 figures, Bronze Power Seller level, TRS, the whole sha-bang only to have it tank 6 weeks after the GTC mandate ...

Last Sunday evening was a big football game - Patriots vs Ravens ... I had the game one and saw 4 Prime commercials, 2 Target commercials and NO eBay commercials.  I listen to the radio when I drive around and often here Prime commercials ...

eBay is lost and has no clue how to resurrect itself ... maybe the new CEO will have some fresh ideas and a more realistic view of who eBay is in the realm of online sales venues ... the last one didn't and sadly I think that's why the site is where it is today.  It will NEVER be an Amazon ... it will NEVER be a leader in selling NEW merchandise and commodities.  It had better devote some time, effort and resources to re-establishing its place in the antique, vintage and collectible categories then launch some new site to try and compete with the other NEW merchandise market place.

Here is what I perceive to be the fundamental difference between eBay and say Amazon or Target ... the latter two purchase inventory in bulk whole sale as a company where as eBay is comprised of individual Selling accounts and thus loses the ability to purchase in bulk ... they don't purchase anything.  eBay wants to be this big something but fails to realize all of its individual Selling IDs do NOT have that same vision ...

Best regards,

I feel your pain and then some- going into the 2nd week of November soon and sales are beyond dismal for me.  Even "best offers" have died off.   It's the holiday season.  A time for sellers to welcome more orders, except this year too much has changed here...
