Feedbacks

I have had a few buyers that bid on and win an auction then after numerous requests for payment do not respond in any way there by costing me a sale and wasting a lot of my time. Why can't a seller leave a negative feedback for these deadbeats to warn other sellers about their non response. It seems like Ebay protects these buyers and lets them go on and cause more sellers problems. I do not think this is a fair to their sellers !

Re: Feedbacks

The ability to leave anything other than positive feedback for buyers was removed quite some time ago due to sellers leaving retaliatory feedback.

Re: Feedbacks

It's a policy violation to leave negative comments in buyers feedback also.

The buyer should report the feedback.

Have a great day.

Re: Feedbacks

Buyers cannot be given negative feedback, and leaving a positive rating with a negative comment is a policy violation subject to removal. That is not what feedback is for.

After four days you can cancel the transaction for nonpayment to give the buyer a strike and prevent feedback from being left. If you cancel earlier or for other reasons, the buyer will not get a strike.

Giving a deadbeat buyer a strike is far more useful to other sellers than a false positive that other sellers may only have a chance to see after it is too late to do anything about a bid or purchase. Strikes can actually prevent the account from bidding or buying at all from sellers that set their buyer requirements strictly.

Add the user to your Blocked Buyer List to prevent that particular user from bidding on or buying any more of your listings, regardless of what other sellers do.

Be sure to set your own Buyer Requirements to preemptively block bids or purchases from users with two or more unpaid item strikes in the last year.

You can avoid unpaid items by listing your item for a fixed price with immediate payment required and by not accepting offers.

It's been 16 years since ebay removed the ability for sellers to leave anything but positive feedback with positive comments for buyers.

If your buyer reports the feedback you left, you will get a feedback violation ding on your account.
