A buyer leaving feedback for a seller is optional, not mandatory, so the large majority of buyers do not leave feedback.
It sounds like you are already not waiting to receive feedback from the buyer before leaving feedback for the buyer. This is a good practice, and increases your chances of getting feedback returned.
After that, I've found a buyer is more likely to take the time to send feedback based on your service, not necessarily the quality of the item itself.
My 'customer service' tips to increase feedback:
Even with all the above, only about 20-25% of my buyers leave feedback for me.

Feedback is not required by a buyer or a seller. Years ago it was a big thing, but now days I just think people are just interested in receiving their item timely, described and at a good price with a fair shipping cost. I personally have enough feedback. My focus is to have happy customers who will hopefully shop again with me.
Have a great day.

No news is good news. Careful what you wish for.

We only receive feedback from about 1 of every ten to 12 sales. We leave it for every customer. Being that feedback is optional we really don't look for it. It is not a big deal & eBay can't deposit feedback into your bank account. Don't sweat the small stuff..........Good Luck! You have Some nice Items!

I understand what you are saying, but buyers just don't look at it the same way a seller does.
I've been selling on this account since 2009 with over $7,000,000 in sales, but yet I only have 774
feedback.
I've tried it both ways, leaving feedback when feedback is received and leaving feedback whether I receive it or not.
It didn't make any difference in the amount I received.
Over the years I've learned that the most important thing is selling my product, shipping it quickly and professionally. Offering great customer service before, during and after the sale. These things go a long ways in getting repeat business.
Focus on your business, not the little bonus of feedback.
Good Luck to you

I worry about this same thing but try to make myself realize that giving feedback can be a tedious thing for some people to do, so they leave none. You already have a great amount of feedback accumulated, so I wouldn't stress it too much. I would give suggestions on trying to get more feedback, but I don't have a solid answer. Best thing you can do is provide great customer service and try to offer fast shipping with reasonable shipping cost. Everyone is so stressed with everyday life that thier #1 priority isn't leaving feedback for a purchase they made online. I've also noticed, a number of my customers are repeat customers, that don't leave feedback, but I think most of those people may just be too busy or think the feedback system is pointless. I got thier money, they paid and did thier part. If they got a problem with thier order, I imagine they will reach out in an timely manner.

Similar to @jbbowers12012 I leave feedback for every buyer.
I only receive feedback about 10% of the time or 1 out of every 10 sales.
I have noticed that the percentage has been going down over the years.
I think people are busy/lazy/or they just don't care.
There are many buyers out there who don't leave ANY feedback at all.
I wouldn't worry about it.

I personally hate when sellers give me feedback. I just don't need it as a buyer - I don't really need/want the world knowing what I buy so I'd prefer to NOT have sellers leave feedback.
I don't even trust all "good" reviews anymore anyway these days for a number of reasons (especially since the big sellers seem to be able to get bad reviews/feedback removed)
** I will avoid shops with consistent BAD reviews (but I read the reviews to see why - that makes a difference since there are bad buyers to use reviews to scam sellers)

Mine is down too, I keep wondering if I'm in a secret program to experiment with the elimination of feedback.

I don't think people can see what you buy just because a seller leaves you feedback.
Only you can see it. Others can't

buy and sell on separate accounts.
set your "buying account" feedback to private.
