Today I got a neutral - maybe the 3rd or 4th one in 20 years - because an item was damaged in shipping. The buyer never contacted me, I had no idea that the item wasn't perfect on arrival. I have offered him a replacement and am awaiting his response.
Over time I have read many discussions here about requesting a feedback revision, but I have never, ever asked for one, and I can't remember how it works. Can any of you tell me whether it is available for a neutral, or is it only for negatives? I don't plan on asking until have worked out the situation.
TIA!

Feedback reversal is for negatives only.
It does not apply to neutrals which cannot be changed, only removed by ebay if it qualifies.

Feedback revision is for both negative and neutral feedback. So you can send your buyer a feed back revision request.
You should be able to use this to send the feedback revision request https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ReviseFeedbackMessage&msg=1
if that hat doesn’t work, you just go to your feedback profile and the link to send the request should be there

Thank you for the correction, Jen.
Was this a recent change?

Thanks again for your help. I haven't heard anything from the buyer yet, we'll see what happens.

As far as I remember you’ve been able to revise neutrals for as long as negatives. You just can’t revise positives.

A good reason to not rush to leave feedback as it may be premature.

Yes I can’t remember a time when we couldn’t revise neutrals.

Fwiw, even if the buyer doesn't respond I doubt a neutral will effect your sales one bit. If you still get radio silence you can always respond "apologies, item damaged by carrier in transit" and 100% of the people you want to sell to will know exactly the scoop.

I don't expect it to affect my sales, but I go way out to assist a buyer when any issue comes up, even to the point of putting my 800 number in the package so they can call to get a problem solved, and this person just goes ahead and slams me instead of contacting me. You all know what I'm talking about, it is an issue that comes up here repeatedly.
The right thing to do is to offer a new item to him, which I have done, but getting broadsided doesn't make me inclined to want to help. This was not a cheap item - $150, so I will lose a chunk of money by replacing it.

Feedback doesn't count against your selling account with eBay. Only Defects, and you got no Defects on this transaction.
Your FB score will remain 100% so most buyers won't even bother looking at your FB page.
If your sales are steady, the neutral will drop down to #26 soon, and the very few still looking at FB will have the onerous task of finding it.
If you add a Response, you will draw attention to the FB.
Ignore it and move on.
The buyer wasn't upset enough to start a Dispute, so just move on.

No, it isn't recent, it's always been possible to revise neutral feedback.
Before feedback revision existed, ( when sellers could neg buyers ) trading partners could mutually agree to withdraw negative and neutral feedback, that option was available prior to the feedback change in 2008..

You know some buyers do not understand what neutral means to sellers on eBay. I doubt it was malice, just ignorance.
with Labor Day this weekend this is a huge vacation week.

The neutral has already dropped to the 2nd page, but all a buyer has to do is click on the number at the top of the feedback page to see it. I will reply to it, what I say will depend on whether the buyer responds or not.
And the*dog* - This is a vacation week, and we are sort of neighbors (same state) - you gonna come down to my island and visit me?
