We've had the same primary eBay account for 18 years with zero negative feedback. Around a year ago our account was hacked for a short time and the hacker managed to order one expensive pair of sneakers before we regained control of the account. During this same time one of our sales got lost in the chaos and we experienced our one and only negative feedback while we had no control over the account. I chatted with a representative today and got a negative result. I feel with an 18 year history and the incident was reported to eBay it should be removed.

It is probably too late to get it removed now - but if this dates back to almost a year ago then that Neg is about to roll off the back of your 12-month feedback summary. At that point it will have no effect on your current rating (which will return to 100% until your other 4 Positives also roll off) and be all but invisible from there on.

There is nothing in the eBay feedback removal policy that says they will waive the policy based on your history or because a hacker managed to buy one pair of sneakers.
The scammer had control for a 'short time' and only managed one transaction before you got the account back. How exactly did one of your sales get "lost in the chaos"? Were you unable to look at your sold items for some reason?

The one that is left on your account is just too old for Ebay to do anything about. It won't hurt you. You will be just fine.
