Feedback from a cancelled winning bid

Hi, a winning bidder has won a TV I sold. However none of the courier's I've contacted will cover damage to a TV in transit. The winner doesn't want to cancel the bid but also isn't winning to accept any responsibility to damage. I obviously don't want to ship and risk damage. If I cancel the winning bid can they still leave me negative feedback? TIA

Have you checked with third party insurance carriers?  I don't know what you have available in the UK.  Yes you can cancel but you will earn a defect and possible negative feedback.

Yes, they can. You should have looked into the shipping options BEFORE you listed it.

I sell blown goose eggs and they aren't insurable by any of the carriers.  I wrap each egg carefully  with foam peanuts in cardboard dividers to make sure they arrive intact.   I always keep money set aside in the event of a claim, and I limit what the buyer can purchase.  For example, I sell sets of six to a box.  I don't offer any combined shipping discounts as they are prepackaged.    Thus far, I have been selling them for the past three years without any breakage.  Short of a truck running over the box they should survive the post office who pays absolutely no attention to boxes marked with Fragile stickers.
