Feedback Extortion

Hey Gang,

Is this buyer's conduct considered feedback extortion as defined by eBay policy?

There are tons of these...thoughts?

Re: Feedback Extortion

Those feedbacks, are not removed.   They are all left by the same user.

The sellers should report those feedbacks.

As a seller, block the user from bidding.

They are under ‘feedback left for others’

Indeed.   Not likely to get a "return shipping label" from China either, if the buyer even files SNAD.   Entirely too much drama.

That being said, I never did believe eBay when they told us "buyers would leave after one bad buyer experience and never return to eBay".

Can any member, even one not in a transaction, report a buyer for this kind of behaviour to others?

I would go to FaceBook and let them know you have a concern about a buyer that's violating policies then give them the ID. I would only do that if the buyer made contact through a message or an offer and it's not an ID that you found out of the blue or through this board or a friend. Because the feedback is publicly accessible, they'll probably file a report and look into it even if you're not in a transaction with that buyer.

Re: Feedback Extortion

Sellers ID says 0 0 0....??  what does this mean.

The user id in question has left all those negative feedbacks.

Perhaps the OP is a new seller to this buyer and worried about the same feedback?

The very first thing to do is put that buyer on your BBL.....you don't ever want to be in a deal with them.

Then bring them to the attention of eBay For Business on FB.

You will get the standard reply "Thank you for keeping eBay a safe place YADDA, YADDA, YADDA, we won't be able to share the outcome of any investigation."

You will never know what action they took, if any......unless the member suddenly becomes "Unregistered User".
