eBay is increasing their fees again? eBay makes more than I do on a lot of my sales . Pure greed.

As oppressive as eBay's fees are, if eBay is making more than you are you're not buying your merchandise well.

Didn't you read the Seller Update? They aren't increasing fees, they are adjusting them. Adjusting. 🤣
And here so many sellers were so happy about ebay paying buyers out of ebay's pocket to "go away" even if the buyer clearly lost the claim or shouldn't have received a refund. Where do you think that extra money comes from? You surely didn't think ebay was actually going to reach into their own pockets did you?

As soon as I saw that email this afternoon, the disgust I felt, especially after Mercari's fee change costing me lots of sales this month... eBay fees increase, shipping fees increase. Buyers keep expecting to pay less and less. The types of messages and offers I get really reflect that. Honestly, things aren't exactly going great on other platforms either, who also have high or even higher fees.
I think online selling needs a complete re-haul. Everyone's unhappy, buyers, sellers and companies alike.
I do believe part of company issues is they've lost sight of the idea of making their customers and workers (in our case, sellers) happy, they seem to only care about what's only in it for them at the expense of those that give them their money. But everyone's unhappiness, and as a result less spending, less earning, is making them unhappy! Go figure.
Is there anything out there yet that states what specific fees besides the general "adjusting FVF" are going up and by how much?

I have been selling for decades. It may be time to give up. The amount the sellers earn keeps shrinking and shrinking. Greed will be the downfall of Ebay.

No one needs this, this is poor timing for something like this & i feel it is completely unnecessary.

Evan after paying ebay's 13.25% fees, I manage to make 100% profit.
Maybe you need to re-think your business plan?

The information you seek was right there in the email:
https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/resources/seller-updates/2025-january/final-value-fee
And if you take the time to scan the list you will see that some of the fees DID NOT change.

But wouldn't it be fair to say that your desire to keep more of your money is also greed?

The wrong type of greed.
Somewhere around 10 years ago, they took a wrong turn and haven't looked back.
They should be greedy, Trying to entice more buyers, sellers, and listings.... rather than trying to squeeze all they can out of the ones they have.

I keep charging buyers more to keep making money. Pure greed on my part🤔

I dont think many people here, both sellers and buyers, really have any idea what all the costs of business really are. Buyers think "if I paid you $20, you made $20"....sellers think, "if I sold for $20 why arent I making $20?"

I just looked at the increases on most from 13.25% to 13.6, honestly is this a killer? Not in my opinion. We all buy gasoline at whatever price is shown, $3.25 a gallon or $3.12 it is not significant. Yes it does add up but I remember gas at 27 cents a gallon in 1969 have I stopped buying it because it has gone up? No.

Thank you, I read the email on my phone and didn't notice the read news button.

Guitar equipment is still under 7%. My favorite category. Video Game consoles around ~8%, a little less, I think. Some fees are high, but it is the US Postal Service that is the killer by raising rates way too high for all sellers, knocking out momentum. 35 cents a gallon in Lancaster PA in 1975. Then Carter took over.
Thrift Stores have "caught on" too, jacking up prices because the managers are now eBay resellers getting their products for free. LOL.
