FedEx Mis Delivered Package, refuses to escalate unless Ebay contacts them

I shipped a package via FedEx and the buyer says it was delivered to the wrong house.  The FedEx pic is not his steps or door.  As the seller I contacted FedEx.  They took the report but could not escalate it since I am not showing as the shipper and Ebay shipments don't show on my FedEx account.  Oddly my shipments on another website that also begins with E and ends with y show on my FedEx account even though I buy the labels through that site.  FedEx recommended that the buyer open a case on Ebay and that Ebay would need to escalate it to FedEx.  Not a chance that Ebay will do that.  Has anyone else had this situation with FedEx?  I know that some people don't like FedEx but they are cheaper than the USPS for me -- sometimes by alot and this is the first delivery error that I had with them.  BTW, the order was for almost $600 so I also don't see Ebay paying that out of seller protection.  TIA

If customer opens "did not receive item" case (you would need to give EBAY the FedEx tracking# and it would show that item was delivered and case would close).    Seller is not responsible for item after it was delivered.
