I’m a new member, have zero feedback, thus opening me up to scams. Constantly getting offers well over asking price. But just today, had a “buyer”, offer $10, on an item I have listed for $3, and also hasn’t even been bidded on. I tell him my reservations ( although he has 100% feedback zero are neutral or negative), but he was rude in his msg when I declined offer and stated why. So I type his handle in at EBay and he has nothing for sell, yet his feedback from booth as a buyer and seller are chalk full of glowing comments…? What do y’all make of this?

Are you sure about that? You're 100% certain that eBay didn't add that without the OP knowing?

It's an auction. An offer over the starting bid price can be perfectly legitimate. An auction with a $3 starting bid isn't exactly a scammer magnet, and a $10 offer, when the item could be worth more, isn't a red flag either.

@bearswatching wrote:WOW! Why on earth are you telling potential buyers what you paid for an item? And telling them you assume they are scamming you?Don’t do that! As for the Frost bust just listing it as “up to 12”” doesn’t tell me anything. Is it 11” high or 3” high? Details are really critical. You can edit the Frost piece to add exact dimensions. Width might also be useful as the buyer may have a specific place to display it. Wishing you good luck selling on eBay!
And why pay an extra 1.00 for a 3 day auction listing?

You know, you just explained everything in the most basic of terms ever lol. You need a YouTube channel! Thank you ! I feel a little better now, although I feel like a jerk for treating the one fella who offered on it like dirt. Again thank you! It’s obvious that I’m new, but really want to learn this process

Hmmm. You’ve got a point. Well I’m not asking much and only selling to see if this new adventure will be worth my time and while I don’t have any feed back with being new, I wanted to project honesty based on what I paid as well ( I assume most but only to resell, thus making it worth their time), as far as dimensions, those were recommended and it’s about that size, so along with the pics I took I figured it was self explanatory, plus anyone can msg as I will elaborate as much as I can, but in the post I clearly stated “beats me” meaning “what I’ve stated and pics I’ve taken is all I know”

You do not have an item listed for $3. What you have is an auction with a starting price of $3. Big difference. If your item typically sells for $100 and you started the auction at $3, it is reasonable for someone to offer you $70 for that $3 listed auction starting price. The person already knows the value and wants it before someone bids higher. Never reply to a message like you did. It would upset anyone who offered a higher price than your starting bid.

It’s my arena 😉👌

You really shouldn't be treating anybody like dirt, it's wrong. If you're not interested in accepting an offer, you should have gracefully declined.
Here's a free lesson in etiquette; "I appreciate your offer, however I'd really like to let the auction ride out in its current "highest bidder wins" format until the end. I welcome your bids and I hope you win, I look forward to doing business with you! Thank you again for your interest."
It's pretty easy to be courteous and respectful to people.

I was offered $100 for the bust, and after getting msgs to email or text OUTSIDE of eBay, I because wary. Then along comes the $10 guy. He was prolly legit, but as a new buyer I was shaken by this as it’s not hard to prism and steal identity ( of which eBay isn’t responsible)
