My sales started to drop in August 2018 and continued thru the end of the year. So far this year my sales are off 70%. I realize that maybe the market for what I sell could be changing, but this has been a very sharp decline and I would expect a more gradual decline with the loss of interest. I was wondering if my sales on Ebay are off because I'm not participating in the " Promote Listing " option?

CT to CA was $18 with Fedex Smartpost for 3lb 10 oz, 13 x 12 x 4 package (ebay shipping calculator).
USPS priority was $19+ large flat rate box, over $22 self packaged.
I use calculated shipping on my listings, so those are the rates the buyer would see.

1. I sold for 41 years in the real world of tete-a-tete selling. Been retired since 2007.
2. No I am not looking to do "big time work" to make a few extra shekels. That is what I did before I hung up my spurs in late 2007. Met with customers any time they were available - 2:30 am or 9:00+ PM. Once met a customer ( the owner) in the waiting room of a hospital at 9:30 PM. he was having surgery the next morning (nothing serious). needed to get the order and finance paper signed t o he could take delivery shortly after he got out of the hospital. Dinner that night was a big mac & fries eaten by the windshield on my way home at 55 mph+.
3. I'm glad you are happy with eBay but I do have my point of view as I have clearly stated. never said i couldn't find stuff on eBay but what I said - when you search what you are looking for is most often "hidden" amongst other semi or non related stuff to what I want. FYI have bought 140 items since 2008 on the eBay website & that amount plus more on another website - most of which have been within the last three years.
4. What I am also saying is if potential buyers for my ebay selling stuff have to sift through other semi or non related offerings to find my stuff then I can see why our sales took a big SE curve nose dive after 2013. See prior to 2013 Google was the primary search engine for eBay and sales were very good - and most folks never heard of Cassini. When eBay switch over it was a a rough ride for a long while and on top of that there was a big eBay security breach mixed in - everybody had to switch passwords.
5. The greatest thing about the US is we all have a lot of choices and we are happy with the ones that trips our trigger. - for right now.
Ciao! & Fini!
