this is happening more and more that i get messages from other members apolgizing or are **bleep** off because one morning they look at thier inbox only to find they have made a major purchase while they were asleep.if this happened once, maybe twice,i would say they are just full of it and had buyers remorse.but this is happening quite often.im convinced ebay employees are 'purchasing' items,or bots are,so they can get fees and look like sales are being generated to thier stockholders.yes a good majority of the fees are given back, but they are holding your money for a period of time.think of that being done on a huge scale, like millions of people.thats a lot of money, and a lot of interest earned in thier bank account based on not real money.in addition they have already gotten your listing fees.ive long held the belief that ebay also was creating millions of zero feedback buyers for this same purpose.hit the buy it now and never respond.on a 99 cent item, who cares, but on cars or luxery items, those fees add up quick.i really am amazed the FTC has not shut these dirtbags down.even if what im thinking is not true, its well known over the years they have partaken in plenty of other criminal miscief

Umm, all it takes is to file an unpaid item case, close it, block the buyer, and all those fees get refunded to you in full.
In fact, in the settings section, Ebay gives sellers the option to block buyers who have had more than 2 unpaid item strikes within a given time.
So your whole argument doesn't really hold water because just about every seller knows that opening unpaid item disputes gets us back our fees in full.

A friend of ours had that happen with his account. Items were purchased. At the end of 30 days a claim was filed. They waited until the very last day to mail the return and the sellers money was held up pin paypal for almost two weeks. Five times this happened. He was lucky because he had good sales and the PayPal holds didn't affect him. He was smart and always made sure to leave money in PayPal until after the thirty day return period.
But they were sellers trying to take down his account. I've heard of other posters on here mentioning thats why you should have a posting ID and not a link to your seller account. If someone doesn't like you, you could be in big trouble and there won't be any help.

Aside from what the above poster has mentioned, also realize that sometimes buyers want to cancel a transaction because they found a better price elsewhere or changed their minds, and not everyone is upfront about having buyers remorse and may often use the "I made this purchase by mistake" excuse.

Youre getting buyers remorse emails - not some elaborate scheme to collect a bit of money from sellers who don't know how to file an Unpaid Item dispute or a cancellation. Just get your fees recovered one way or the other and move on.
PS - that Pontiac Catalina 2-door in your listing 201943266844 is a 1968 - not a 1969.

hey, read my post again.it was more about ebay generating false sales for themselves.and .let me try to explain.ok,here goes: when a person,or entity, puts money in a bank account, that account earns interest.when you have millions or billions of dollars in an account, even at 1% interest that generates a tremendous amoutn of money.when said money is in that account thru theft or deceptive practices, which i believe it is,then i think something should be done about it.if you bother to do some research, youll find ebay has been the recipiant of many lawsuits involving tactics that are dubious at best.in regards to getting fees backUH! again, yes you can usually get your fvf back.however, there have been times where they did not.but they have already taken the listing fees and do not give those back.ever listed a car for sale??? 60 bucks a pop or more in the categories.maybe youre ok with getting ripped off for that amount time and time again but im not.you also propably didnt take into account people that arent as familiar with how to get fees back,or for one reason or another arent able to.that means ebay keeps it.as well as stealing money,it also screws up the ability to sell because that said item is off the market for a period of time.it always amazes me when i go to forums like this to bring up a topic and there has to be a one or several that simply want to be contrary and not even consider the posters point.ive been with ebay over twenty years, ive seen the degredation.

in some instances i would agree, yes.but taking into account sometimes when i look at the ''buyers'' feedback and they have a huge feedback number and in things that have nothing to do with cars i tend to agree that something is fishy.say for example, someone who has 5000 feedbacks and only sells baby clothes, highly unlikely that person is looking at my junk.as well as them sending me an email bringing the ''sale'' to my attention before i even know about it

Effectively on ebay it now appears to have become seller vs seller not just seller vs buyer ?

I've been reading a lot on this forum. Never felt a need to come here over the years. Now I'm learning there's an awful lot I didn't know, not about selling, but about everything. It's easy to become complacent when times are good, but the situation these days has us completely confused. Nothing makes sense. Why mess with sales. Its a lose lose proposition. Sellers are buyers many times. So you remove their cash flow so they can't buy anymore.
To be going through this out of the blue, unexplainable drop and to be told everything is fine? If everything were fine we'd still be selling our usual numbers, not 1 in a week? For those who still can, it's not ability, it's the luck of the draw.
Competely nuts. But, what I'm reading about the toxic environment at San Jose, well it isn't really suprising that changes are all emotionally driven. Only the kissers will survive and I sure don't like that on my lips.
