Fairness to all

If you’re going to prohibits  people from selling these items then make sure you stop everyone.  I agree it’s downright disgusting to see ridiculous price gouging on crucial necessities that are unavailable to many.   If someone is listing a package of antibacterial wipes and a starting bid of $.99 there shouldn’t be a problem.  To remove a fair listing but then allow people to sell two packages of paper towels for $40 is Terrible but this is EBAY, SMH

Re: Fairness to all

well this leads to ebays biggest problem and i have heard it from many people . TRUST people are losing there trust in ebay ( both buyers and sellers ) and it comes from a complete lack of consistency from there reps and the implementation of there written policies( that they are inconsistent with )  . so why would this be any different . it isn't in my opinion . again it all comes down to trust .

Re: Fairness to all

A 99 cent auction is not a fair deal like you think. It is scamming the vulnerable in these hard times. Life is not fair, make the best of it.

Well, speeding is prohibited too, but the police can't catch all the speeders.

There's no gate on eBay. eBay doesn't control your keystrokes so listings get made for items they're not supposed to list.  All you can do is report the ones you can and hope eBay gets around to removing them.

Re: Fairness to all

Look, 2 rolls for $10 is not Price gouging - this is EBAY. We’re here to make a PROFIT or what would be the point. I know a lot of people don’t realize the time and energy it takes in creating, posting /listing. The fees involved (EBAY & PAYPAL) if you’re printing your own labels you’re using ink and then the cost of your shipping materials. Would you work for a dollarOr 2 an hour?

Re: Fairness to all

I definitely get your point about seeing things go for a lot, that does not mean that they were paid for.Ebay can go back for a month and find all the sellers who sold and were paid, they are on the s list now,for special.

I liked using sanitizer before ths covid stuff.walmart has all the TP and paper towels you can use now but not sanitzer, shelves are still bare.I am willing to pay $60 for a 60 ounce refill of equate sanitizer, thats what I used to have and felt it a fair price for me but I have no idea who is reliable or not

Re: Fairness to all

And that’s what I mean.  60.00 for a large refill isn’t insane at this time.  STORES are PRICE GOUGING as well.  My local ShopRite is charging crazy prices so I wouldn’t make any money selling here and now with all the backwardness I probably can’t even list!  I’m going to attempt another call to EBAY and if my situation isn’t resolved I’m going to take this further. Hope everybody’s staying healthy.

Re: Fairness to all

You do realize that a lot of these high priced items never get paid for, don't you? There are buyers, usually with new accounts, who make a game of bidding up ridiculous amounts and then never paying for the items.

I understand that eBay has removed many millions of prohibited listings. I don't know how they work but it would take a lot of time to remove all the listings that are reported.
