Hey everybody! First time on the forum. But anyways just wondering how im doing for a new seller. Have had my account since november of last year. All i have been doing is buying stuff at the thrift store then listing on ebay, i try to never buy something unless i can make atleast 20$ after all fees but i do sometimes buy lower paying items if im bored lol. I think im doing pretty good and i am having alot of fun doing it. Does anybody have any tips to take it to the next level? I would like to turn this into a full time job eventually. I look forward to being here on the forum and learning as much as possible.

I find it amusing when someone posts asking how are they doing, but then gets offended when some try to tell them. I learned a long time ago to not post with the desire to hear only what I want to hear as responses. To call someone rude is pretty much a rude reply.
Also not a good idea to advise other sellers to ship something media mail that doesn't qualify. It is against board rules to give incorrect information.

Boomers are a pretty diverse group and writing them off is probably not a good business decision.

just wondering how im doing..
Here is your answer;
"I think im doing pretty good and i am having alot of fun doing it."

Ok thanks for that clarification, it appears you can send them bpm as long as the shipping service you use has a permit with usps... I just look for the cheapest and best ways to ship items. Not out here trying to scam the post office. As a seller i think we should all be looking for ways to save on shipping.

Hmm how about here is a tip for you!
You can send calendars as bpm as long as the shipping service you use has a permit with usps.

I didnt really get offended, she just came across as rude and not helpful. I dont entertain that kind of negativity.
They can be sent bpm as long as the shipping service you use has a permit with usps(so you can send single items instead of the min required)

While I have never used media mail, there is one sentence from the convoluted (PS-232) calendar rules that seems to clarify?
"As a rule of thumb, calendar-type material, of which 50 percent or more of the pages contain textual/editorial/picture matter, is deemed eligible for BPM prices."

Yes they are indeed... I guess i should have said "typical rude boomer"
Most boomers are helpful and genuinely good people, but i have ran into quite a few that do not offer a hand up nor any kind of helpful advice on life for the up and coming generations.

So you have a bulk mailing permit?
I have found rudeness comes in all ages and sexes.

No but as long as the shipping service you use has the permit you can select it from the options. Dont have a list of all the providers that have one yet. Researching it now. Will report my findings. And yes they do come in all ages and sexes, but from my experience its predominantly older sellers. Im not exactly young either ill be 33 this year.

Wow!!!! I would have pegged the attitude as coming from a 19 year old who's parents really let him down. You have asked for and received some good advice here. Try to be respectful and appreciative of it, even if you want to group all boomers together.
