Face it, we are nothing more than easliy replaceable undervalued & often lied to employees of ebay

I'm done complaining about ANYTHING from here on out.  It's obvious that We WORK for ebay ...they DO NOT work for us even though WE PAY THEIR SALARIES....the irony.....If there are NO SELLERS then there are NO BUYERS . And yet we the SELLERS mean LESS THAN NOTHING TO EBAY! Whether small or large you as a SELLER MEAN NOTHING TO EBAY!!!

.....UNLESS OF COURSE YOU ARE A  CHINESE SELLER,,, WELL THEN WHOOHOO they have your back and you can seemingly  break every rule in the book especially the ones governing NO DOUBLE LISTINGS

We are NOW ESSENTIALLY PAYING to work for ebay and as their employees they choose to abuse us in any manner that suits them . They CONSTANTLY TELL BOLD FACED LIES on the phone and do NOT ever call you back OR give you the credits that they promise. It's a Brave New World alright......

I respectfully disagree. There would be some commitment on my end to show up every day. I might list 5 times a month. My goal for novemver is 20 times, but still. If ebay is my boss they are a very chill boss.

No, we are nothing more than easily replaceable undervalued & often lied to consumers of the services that eBay offers us. They don't pay me a dime; I pay them.

Well....guess what...maybe not for you, but for me at least since about 4 months ago if I don't list at least 6 items a day I dont sell DIDDLY. Ive been selling here for 20 years and I could go for days without listing SQUAT and still maintain an almost consant sales stream......not anymore......I gotta list everday and EVEN WHEN I DO LIST 6 ITEMS THESE DAYS NOW .....CRICKETS NOT ONE  D__N SALE!

AND BTW this is NOT my Main Seller ID

I am sorry you have been dealing with a very difficult and upsetting set of circumstances here.  I wish I could tell you how to resolve it to your satisfaction, but I can't.

I can only let you know that I hear your anger and frustration.  Please don't let this situation become a health issue for you.

I have had my share of ecommerce stress and find it greatly helps me to walk away from the issue for a few days.  Often I gain a new perspective or discover an overlooked bit of information that helps mitigate the problem.  I know that's hard when income is involved but a stroke or heart attack will only add to your misery.

Take some time to write out bullet points before making another customer service call.  Remain clam when talking to a rep.  Remain on the line until you speak with a human.  I once waited over 4 hours on hold but did get my issue resolved by a CS quickly.

I hope this message comes across reflecting the sympathy and the empathy with which it was written.

Best wishes,

BJ

@greatpartsgooddeals  I would beg to differ ... eBay is just one of many online sales venues.  Each venue has their own rules and regulations.  eBay just happens to be one that right now in their growth and development are bent more towards Buyers then Sellers.  But to your point, if enough sellers left or reduced their inventory for Sale then eBay would have to do something to offset the loss which means things might start to turn back towards a level playing field between Buyers and Sellers.

The venue has some very good points as well as some very bad points but I suspect that is true regardless of venue.

I think too many watch that kind of movie when they are in 'a mood'.  How about something where the good guys win to cheers and laughter?

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Any business,

eCommerce or not . ..  is not easy.

The mortality rate (failure rate) of businesses is higher than many believe.

It takes careful preparation.. specifice product skills.. market knowledge...

and a well thought out business plan.

eBay, like all other businesses.. works best for those who are prepared.

Prepared for the unexpected.  Prepared for losses.

Prepared to make unemotional business decisions.

I'm sorry this is happening to you, whatever it is.

It looks like, by your completed listings, that you've sold a couple dozen items at about 80 dollars each or less?  Apparently one of them was a total loss?  Or a box of rocks on their return?

You need to use eBay, like they use you.  To make money.

(I'm paraphrasing another well-known boardie on this).

You need to see how much you make here.  On each sale.

How much eBay sales add to your account as opposed to selling where there isn't as much exposure as eBay offers.

You need to put some money aside on each sale (cookie jar insurance).. and/or raise your prices slightly to absorb 1 out of 12 (or 20) sales ending badly.

It never helps to get emotional over business decisions.  Not here.  Nor anywhere.

Thanks again.  And I'm sorry things went bad recently for you,

Lynn

@18704d  One of several excellent points you made:

"Prepared to make unemotional business decisions."

This comes in to play on returns ... buyers think they have to make either the item or the Seller sound like a complete failure trying to put them on the defensive.  I experienced this today from a Buyer ... anyone can find anything wrong and blow it out proportion ... I would much rather receive a short and sweet, "Dear  Mr Seller, upon receipt I changed my mind and would like to return this item,  Sincerely, Buyer".

Anyway, after the failed attempt to make me or my item feel bad the reply was a simple explanation of the 30 Day return policy, gave them the item number in case they are not familiar with returns and advised them to return the item at their convenience ... next.

This is my posting ID not my main seller ID. I just do small sales on this user account. Ebay needs to just BE HONEST for once and CHANGE their user agreement to say:

"WE WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES COVER YOUR BACK. ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING YOU LIST ON OUR SITE IS SUBJECT TO FORFEITURE THROUGH THEFT AND YOU WILL JUST HAVE TO BE UNEMOTIONAL AND TAKE IT LIKE A MAN..OR A WOMAN...OR WHATEVER GENDER YOU IDENTIFY WITH."

TO PRETEND THAT EBAY WILL HELP YOU IS AFFRONT TO COMMON DECENCY WHEN WE ALL HAVE EXPERIENCED 0% HELP SINCE JUNE 2018.

Very sorry to hear you are upset. I am not being flip when I say the UA doesn't need to change, it already says that eBay has its own best interests covered, sometimes at the expense of the seller. So I surmise you had a No Returns policy and denied a return request? Then the buyer opened an Item Not As Described case and eBay forced the refund?
