I'm curious and a little frustrated at the lack of feedback that is being returned. Specifically when you are the seller. As a buyer, the feedback doesn't mean as much. What can the seller post-"quick payment". If there was no payment there wouldn't be a deal or reason to leave feedback in the first place. But as a seller it is important to let people know you are reputable. I recently did 11 transactions-8 as a seller and 3 as a buyer and have only received 3 feedbacks. I know the transactions as a seller were good. I shipped quick, communicated every step of the way , the item was just as described etc. Feedback is what makes Ebay work. Is anyone else seeing this trend? Seems more so now than in the past.

I do always leave FB for a seller, don't care if they leave it for me, but I know as a seller myself (especially starting out) it can be important.
In saying that I have a high number of Selling FB, so as long as I don't warrant a neg, I don't really mind if it is left for me or not.

The "Trend" has always been there. Sellers on average receive feedback 20 to 50% of the time. Are you leaving feedback for your buyers?

If it's any consolation, your feedback number will eventually tick up by one for each successful transaction. It's all good...

For a very short while, after reading so much here that feedback is voluntary and only a relatively small percentage of buyers leave feedback, I went to leaving seller feedback 100% of the time. It is the LEAST I can do for what sellers have to put up with here by Ebay. Ebay sellers are THE BEST !!!!!! I am not happy any of my money goes to Ebay (I mean, sellers do include all of their "overhead" into the price, right?) but happy the hard-working sellers get my money.

199 received, 212 left. That's actually not bad at all.

With increase of the tech generation(s), feedback has diminished in frequency. Back in the 90s, it was customary on ebay to leave feedback much more often, however feedback has been and still is voluntary. Many sellers find that 10%-30% of buyers leaving feedback is fairly much the norm nowadays. Many people are busy, preoccupied, unconcerned and/or can't be bothered, and they can't really be blamed. EVERYBODY and their brother wants feedback (or 'take this little survey') on any and all transactions - the post office, the cable company, the storage company, most any retail establishment or store - everybody is collecting data from any source they can.
On the flip side, given time and number of good transactions, your feedback count should go up.
