How are you going to deal with the epic winter storm that is supposed to spread across 30-40 States starting tomorrow? I imagine too many will see a large impact on sales? They figure 235 million will be affected by it. We are supposed to get our dose of it, In Ontario on Sunday. Only 8 ins. here. However, MANY days of windchill making it feel before -3F during the day & -14F at night.

Kinda cool what I found pictured.
I live several miles out in the country. I've never lived in a town in my life because I grew up on a farm.
It frustrates me to hear some claim it's just snow, as if there is no need to be concerned at all. Yes, we get snow most years, but the extreme amounts and temperatures are dangerous, and unfortunately there will be deaths.

Hi Everyone, With a one day handling time & only 150 items listed we here in N.J. were going to just "end listings" and "relist" when things get cleared up a bit. But, we do have a question will the listings thay we have offers out also end? Good Luck All!!

Yes, they (the listings with offers) will end.

You made the choice as to where you want to live knowing the potential hazards and possible inability to get supplies when you need them because of inclement weather.
There are people near me who live in what is called a 'flood plain'. They have been flooded before, and rebuilt in the same area. Even when they are denied insurance, they stay. Perhaps a little head-shake is needed here!
People are told to evacuate from a fire zone, and don't, thus risking the lives of rescuers.
Sometimes the risk is worth it ... sometimes it isn't. Unfortunately, common sense cannot be legislated so you have to decide on the level of risk you can tolerate from things like snow.
You're not entitled to leniency from the court for killing your parents just because now you're an orphan.
Sounds like you have been doing this for awhile ... keep it up and stay warm and safe and take it easy on those icy roads.

I expect Mon-Tues to be shutdown in the DC/MD/VA area and possibly Wednesday before it is safe to venture out. The post office will be closed or limited services. I took time away until Wednesday.

When I left the house this morning, the actual temp was -28 F and the wind chill was -47 F. Brrrr. I hope that free eBay tape sticks to the boxes.

With lots of people stuck indoors, they will have more time to buy on eBay.

It’s -13F degrees outside with windchill of -35F degrees now. Doesn’t seem to be affecting me. Usually sell 40 to 50 items on average day and have sold 41 already and it’s still very early.

I am going to deal with it by ignoring it. My 5 day handling time will absorb any delays.
It is already have some effect here. Mail carrier picked up and delivered hours earlier than normal. Today's shipments missed the pickup. I am not taking them to the PO.

When it gets to around -40, it doesn't matter whether it's F or C degrees ... it's **bleep** cold!

@fern*wood wrote:Of course it's no big deal to some. It depends on where you live. Do you need to drive? Do you lose electricity often? I'm guessing not. If I was within walking distance of the things I need like medical care, food or something as simple as mail service, I might not be too concerned either. Glad you can enjoy the snow, but no need to make light of others.
I always like to mention to people that I'm within walking distance (15 miles) of the hospital I was born in. By the way, my grandfather walked from West Virginia to Idaho at 14. Coal miner family. Mean daddy.
PS New Yorkers always think that the rest of the Country is just camping out I heard.

I keep a 5 day shipping schedule also. Expected to get 12-18" over Sunday into Monday. Any sales I get will go out on Tuesday. Even though my carrier has on 2 occasions walked through snow to deliver mail, that much snow is too much as we won't even be plowed out until late Monday.

That is what it is like here, also. Nothing so extreme that a life is in danger.
