Hello,
I just realized that I have been being charged an insertion fee for using a second category that is MY SHOP/STORE category when I have many free listings left. I am NOT talking about a "Second category (fees may apply)" but the "Store Categories" that is listed below that in the listing screen.
So here's an example:
Category
Clothing, Shoes & Accessories > Men > Men's Accessories > Ties
Second category(fees may apply)
Add a second category
Store categories

Is it possible that they were like this listing of yours? This one was listed in two eBay categories.
If that's not it, then hopefully someone else will be able to offer a better suggestion.

@thewickedpickle 2nd Category Fees are for eBay Categories not Store Categories. Store Categories are NOT used in internet Search results, they are for use in organizing your store (like you are already doing).

Thanks for your reply. Yes, that one and a couple others I DO have in two eBay categories. That having an additional insertion fee I understand. It's the ones that I have only one eBay category and the 2nd category is under a Store category.

Thanks for your reply. I didn't think there was a fee for Store Categories. That is why I am questioning it... I am and have been being charged insertion fees for them. Wish I would have realized this sooner. No wonder my fees have been so high!

There is no fee for store categories.........in fact you can list in 2 separate store categories..........at no cost......

As someone else mentioned, the charge would not be for a store category.
Can you give an example of a listing where you were charged extra that was only listed in one ebay category?

Have you been scheduling listings or using the listing designer? The charge for those is .10

Thank you for your replies. I think I was wrong in my initial post. On the listings in question I DID choose a second eBay category.
So, just to make sure... if you choose a SECOND category under eBay you are charged for it even if you have free listings left?

Yes. Ebay doesn't consider a second category a free listing.
Although sometimes I would like to know which category gets the most views ...................
