Re: Explain someone please

  • A seller abuses the final value fee credit process by filing a report on a transaction where the buyer paid for the item

In other words, the seller attempts to collect a credit on their final value fees (fees for a particular item)

by claiming that they never received payment, or could not complete the sale due to the fact the buyer was non responsive. If a buyer pays, you must ship.

I thought that was a old eBay thing, since eBay controls the whole buying process, they can see what every one is up to.

@yuzuha

It's from this page:  False reports of policy violations

You have to expand the section entitled, "Read our full policy."

I'd be curious to know why the OP didn't bother to include the source of that quoted material in his first post.

Forgive me . I am learning how to converse here. I didn’t think it was important and assumed seasoned people would know.

@partfinds

Thanks.

I do want to add this:

  •

If there was an issue with the transaction that you resolved, you may qualify for a credit of some or all of the fees you paid.

Credits for refunds and canceled orders

You may be eligible for fee credits in the following circumstances:

In these situations:

Fees credited:

  • Final value fee (variable component only. The $0.30 per order fixed amount will not be credited)
  • Promoted listings fee (if applicable)
  • Additional final value fees for not meeting performance expectations
  • International fee (if applicable)

I think some may try to ask for a FVF refund when there is a dispute and a refund is issued but not in the sellers favor.

"You or the buyer asked us to step in, and the case was closed with a refund to the buyer"

You may not get your FVF fees back in that situation.

Did you have a problem with a buyer?

Seems like you have some worries.

Re: Explain someone please

There are always returns and some false returns. My main problem is Ebay punishing sellers for no seller wrong doung. I want to understand policies that change without notice and sometimes I can’t comprehend what Ebay means. I want to understand how Ebay punishes sellers because they don’t notify but you can feel it in the sales.

@partfinds

I know you are in a different place than people who sell shoes and clothes, and where customers expect free returns for any reason. I do not agree with folks who think small sellers are like Walmart and other big companies who can "absorb" losses from people who abuse returns.

eBay is going in that direction.

I understand you can not always simply take back a engine ECU with no questions asked, when it may not even be the one you sent out. I am a car guy, I worked in a shop when I was younger.

You are fair and accept returns, eBay is a good place to sell auto parts.

Unfortunately people take advantage, and eBay puts the entire load on you as the seller.

If you are doing well here, you have to be like Walmart and take some loss from dishonest (or who do not know what they are doing) buyers who take advantage.

You will have to accept loosing some money in fees too.

Not saying it is all right.

Best of luck.

Re: Explain someone please

I forgot to add this:

If you feel like there was a transaction that was not settled right, or maybe you think eBay made a mistake

Try this if you are on Facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/eBayForBusiness/

My understanding is they are very fair and much better than regular customer service.

Hey, sometimes you are right!

Re: Explain someone please

My recent returns I was punished for :

1. Item didn’t fit his car because his car was modified; buyer fixed car- didn’t return  item and no refund was processed

2. Buyer opened return past 30 days return window

The best would be if buyer knew what the problem they have on the car and not borrow parts to diagnose or do elimination tests.

Re: Explain someone please

They reported me on Facebook and Facebook locked account. They started asking me to upload pictures of myself etc which I am not intending to do. I opened account just to talk to ebay there. They were responding and then all over the sudden facebook locked me out. They helped with nothing apart from stating there is nothing wrong
