Excepting checks

Buyer wants to send a check for payment. Then arrange pickup after check clears bank. Thoughts.

You can accept a CASHIERS check, POSTAL money order, or cash on Pick Up.

I wouldn’t accept a personal check for your own safety.

eBay doesn’t decree what can be accepted on picked up … BUT some payment methods aren’t safe for sellers.

Including MP, if you get restricted and ebay holds your money until it's given to the state and you have to try to claim it.

Re: Excepting checks

You cannot ask for payment via cash, check, or money order, but if the buyer requests it, you can choose to accept it. I have taken checks and cash through the mail as recently as 2 or 3 years ago, again, at the BUYER"S REQUEST. Some people just do not trust electronic payment methods. eBay doesnt care as long as the transaction is marked paid and they get their FVFs.

But for a local pickup, yeah, cash is the way to go. I always did cash for those.
