Just watched this and thought even the vloggers with 6 figure sales get the occasional buyer returning somethin other than what was sold!
Sellers have to take it all in stride bcause 99.9% of buyers are wonderful!

ahhhh, you watch them, too! They're the only ones I watch. Always so positive, even when things don't go as they should.

They must get better ebay service that many of us if they are normally given a full refund by ebay for a faulty return.

I'm sure they have a concierge - but then everyone that went to Ebay open received concierge service for a year.
We've got the blues to help us here and on Facebook and I'm sure they'd make sure things were set right for any of us that participate.

I like them but they are way out of my league! I enjoy Katy and Vicky and Casey - and even Bin Pickers. It's just nice to get a heads up on what others look for and sell to make a profit!

In 2009 the FBI suggested that the fraud rate on eBay was 1 in 100 transactions.
Around the same time eBay was claiming the rate was 1 in 10,000 transactions.

I don't know the facts and figures - but the majority of my transactions go off without a hitch and I have to remind myself of this everytime I do get a buyer who doesn't read or have one that is unscrupulous. The best way to handle it is to not sell at all - but then there would be no $$ either.

This is pretty accurate, as we generally sell about 100 items a month and deal with some form of partial refund, parts picking or other ridiculous issue at least once every 30 days.

I was not amused - that is only encouraging bad behavior

Promoting its OK to get ripped off on ebay is part of being cool just doesn't fit in my world. I'm not here to be cool and trend setting....

My experience is totally different than any facts stated - we have shipped 1417 items since started selling on eBay (Jan. 2010). Been scammed zero times. Two attempted scams - buyers claiming they didn't receive purchase - sent each a screen shot of the USPS tracking - never heard from them again. Guess I'm over due.

How about using the definition of fraud as it is defined within the Penal law of a particular state ?

I have no idea why the FBI did not do that. But I suspect that the FBI has a pretty good idea of what constitutes fraud.

I'd like to see the citation on that.
With ebay making it extremely easy to not only scam a seller (and actually actively hide their buying behaviors) but do it more than once without any penalty, I'd sure like to know what those numbers are today.

It's sad that they had to refund that buyer for sending a box of trash.
