End of Speed Pak?

Is this the end of the China Speed Pak shipping scheme?  Is it finally going to cost more to ship something from China?

I hate having to compete with Chinese sellers because of the Speed Pak shipping.  It's not fair that it costs me more to ship someone something in the US than it does for them to order it from China.

Can someone let me know if they've heard anything about this?  I heard the President signed something about getting rid of the "small" parcel no tariff thing.

Re: End of Speed Pak?

Speedpaks can't end fast enough.  Problem is Chinese trading companies are copying anything with a good sales number. Our exclusive designs were copied and sold on Ebay at lower prices with a weeks free delivery from China via Speedpak.
I complained to Ebay because several companies were using our photos and product description. Ebay replied that they didn't violate any policies. OK.
Here is how it works. I sell transmission parts. Some low labor person in China scours Ebay listings looking for "over x amount sold" or some large sales volume.  I wish Ebay would let the seller toggle letting people how many were sold.  They buy one and copy it. So these Chinese sellers might be selling gems, wrist watches, phone cases. transmission gaskets etc.  It doesn't matter. It's all about capturing and coping as much sales volume as possible. Also remember  the prior US adminstration allowed it.  They also know that Americans may talk a good patriotic game but if something is 25 cents cheaper they will buy it.  The seller who copies the product knows nothing about it so there is little or zero sales support.

Re: End of Speed Pak?

@movieman630 As I think others have noted, Speedpak and the de minimis rule are two different things. Judging by ebay's comments during the recent Q1 Report, ebay is continuing to offer Speedpak, so no, I don't think it is going away.

The elimination of the de minims exception for China and Hong Kong (and , perhaps at a future date, other countries) will certainly have an impact on imports from those countries, but Speedpak itself does not appear to be closing.
