They probably are trying to say that meet the time frame and the seller will most likely leave feedback (as apposed to not leaving any)

Just a guess 😁

That's great!

And how many of those slow payers are thrilled to see the words, "Your seller may cancel if payment is not received."

TMI bigtime!

Should be more like, "Your seller may find you and slash your tires if payment is not received."

LMAO

As a seller, I'd like my buyer to pay. If this provides some buyers with the incentive to pay quickly, I'm all for it. I think the point is, a seller is not likely to leave ANY feedback if it takes a long time to pay.

Not sure  whether buyers will pay quicker due to this or not, but I figure it can't hurt.

They are giving a buyer two options. One is pay right away and have a better chance to get a positive feedback, or the other is not pay right away and not receive any feedback.

Also, while many experienced sellers are acutely aware that they cannot leave buyers a neg, many buyers probably do NOT know that. (In fact, just look at how many sellers come here to express their shock when they discover they cannot leave a neg. If even long time ebay sellers don't know that, pretty sure there are many more buyers who don't know that.)

In the fence business if a customer's check bounces and they don't come up with cash within 72 hours big bad fence demo crews come when the non-customer is at work and removes the gate and half of the fence boards.  If they don't pay within 24hrs after that the crew returns with the sheriff to remove the rest of the fence planks and stringers.  The deposit covers the posts so we leave those.

Ironically, even if the buyer does pay upon receiving this notice, they make it sound like we get the money as soon as they do. In almost sellers case, the item is shipped before the funds ever even actually hit our bank accounts.

I guess it's part of eBay's new strategy to do something about the increasing number of non-payers. 😒

Addressing non-payers was one of Iannone's stand-out points in his eBay Open keynote address. If I got the message shown above I would laugh- who cares about getting positive buyer FB?

I bought something using the make offer feature recently. The e-mail confirmation I got saying that the seller accepted the offer said "Pay now and get it as early as Mon, Aug 02"

In my opinion- showing a potential delivery date is more incentive to pay right away than the possibility of getting pos FB for my purchase. It reminds buyers that the longer they wait to pay, the longer it will take for their item to ship.

Hey ebay !

How about even more of a incentive for buyers to amase positive feedback, the yearly issuance by eBay of positive feedback received certificates, suitable for framing & buyer wall display.
