Hi all,
I"m getting frustrated with the ebay M2m messaging system. When I ship the item to my buyer, I send a user manual, warranty, and photos. I use my personal email, since I've been unable to locate a method to attach other than jpeg or png to the standard message compose window. The messages are all being sent to the proper ebay user email alias. All of a sudden in the last few weeks these exact same messages are being trapped. Does anyone know how to configure ebay messaging to accept other doc type attachments?

These may be multi-page documents or only available as pdf 's .
Online instructions go back to the 1990s, and are just as annoying now as they were then.
Interesting side note. 1990 is to 2022 as 1958 is to 1990.

I believe you can attach PDF files to eBay's Messaging.
Also for a paid order you are allowed to exchange emails thru eBay's Messages for 14 days. Why don't you provide you email and ask for theirs and explain why you want it. If they do not reply, at least you offered them the documents and they could anytime in the future contact you if they want the documents.
No you can't attach them within system. If you have the eBay email link (from the sales order) you can send them that way. I had an issue sending someone a PDF return label because the info was gone from the sales record. Now I try to print all sales records to PDF for my record before the 15 days expire. Then I can go back to that if I need to send a label.

Yep, you are correct. I must to have done it as you said, the eBay email link in the Sales Record. I call it the eBay Randomly Generated Email that disappears in two weeks.
I too save the Sales Record as a PDF along with the Shipping Label and the screen shot showing delivery. All this worked out well a short time ago when I had an issue with customs on a international order.

Well that might be an idea. When I'm selling a restoration, I send the customer a prepaid label in pdf format. I've never had one of those messages intercepted to my knowledge. It isn't helpful that the automatic message tell you a message was intercepted and the email alias but NOT the message. There must be something in the final email message that trips the M2M system. I'll experiment with making all the files I attach either a jpeg or pdf and see what happens over time. The only thing I can think that may stop that would be a max attachment size, but it's worth a try to get around the stupid, stupid new algorithm.
thanks
