Why would you add negative terms to your listing? The people who don't pay already know they're supposed to pay. Negative terms only turn away good buyers, they're the ones who read the details. So they back out thinking you're difficult and you get a bigger proportion of people who don't care what you think and don't read.

And why can't you put that in your listings?

What POSSIBLE good would it do to put that in your listings? In actuality, I'll bet it would attract more NP bidders who would want to "play" with you...........

You cannot put negative stuff in your description - like don't buy. It's policy. Besides, it's a turn off and might off the wrong people - who pay. Do you think a non-payer is going to pay attention to your rule anyway?
You can set your blocks to prevent buyers with XX amount of unpaids within XX timeframe. The strictest is 2 in 12 moths. You do this in your Account > Site Preferences > Buyer Requirements.
Also, you can list your item Fixed Price with Immediate Payment Required.

Yes, like chumming the waters with bait.:(
OP you can list fixed price with immediate payment required and it will put a stop to the games and then no need for you to bait "sport bidders" with *terms*

Sellers must file unpaid item reports in order for the blocking the buyers with unpaid item strikes to be effective.
what ebay could do is start suspending buyers who have too many unpaid item strikes.

AS is-no returns will not be honored should buyer claim not as described as that makes it an buyer protection covered issue and when buyer wins you will take return and pay refund of all monies buyer paid and be charged for return shipping
Just as a do not bid statement if....will not protect you from non payers
Its your items but ebays playground,by playing here you agree to abide by their policies

customer service has nothing to do with it at all.Its policy which you agree to every time you list

Actually, there is some evidence they do.......there have been a couple of buyers who've complained about buying restrictions.....of course, most that get them aren't going to come to these boards to complain about it..........

"You cannot put negative stuff in your description - like don't buy."
So phrases like "Serious bidders only" or "Please don't bid if you don't intend to pay" or "Seller files UPI if payment not received in 48 hrs" or "Bidders with less than 10 feedbacks must email first before bidding" are all no-nos?
Calling UNCLE on this one.

All of your above examples would tend to drive away good buyers and have little effect on the buyers you really don't want.
"Bidders with less than 10 feedbacks must email first before bidding" . You may get away with putting this in your listing, but if a buyer with say 5 feedbacks buys your item you are obligated to sell or face getting a defect for a cancellation.

You can put the timeframe for when you open an unpaid. That's not discouraging them from buying, but rather than informing of payment timeframe before action is taken
