I have been ebay member since 2011 currently 1075 feedback 100 percent 2 neutrals.
Yesterday evening I was greeted with a email from ebay stating my account had been restricted. All listings have been removed. I had multiple auctions closing everyday with bids on majority of them. I have had a portion of my funds placed on hold.
Only thing ebay keeps reverting back to through generic template emails is I need to upload tracking for All sold listings and / OR positive feedback. That will help them with an appeal process.
This is wild I have no cases open. I have always dealt with any opened case without ebay needing to be involved with good out come.
I have one undelivered case opened last year. case was closed by ebay after I once again provided tracking and signature from Canada post. Then on Feb 11 th a dispute from buyer financial institution was opened on me again.
Feb 12 I responded with all the same registered tracked and signature required information from Canada post. What else could I do with this dispute as a seller. It was signed and delivered to correct verified address. Dispute information was submitted by ebay and remains open.
These are all the items I could possibly see impacting a sudden restriction like this.
Talk about a mess Ebay has left me in.
Last 2 items were paid for after receiving restriction and I have shipped these without payment . Ebay has held all funds from these sales through managed payments.
So this is what a 1075 100 percent feedback and 12 years on ebay gets you ? What does this do as a seller for me in the future if account is reinstated . Selling chainsaw parts and saws is niche area of sales and now members are messaging me wondering where all the listings have gone that they were bidding on.
What a mess I am very stressed from this. I cannot even talk to anyone about this. All representatives are very generic responses. No one can tell me why I am locked out.
Feeling alone on this one. Scott

$5k to $6k worth of sales in the past 6 days and nothing the prior 90 days will do that. It will take a while to shake this out. You will probably next be asked to provide proof of purchase of all these parts.

That's not the best news. I have been reading about sellers being asked for proof of purchase. I think that's part of a larger picture to push out small unique niche hobby sellers and compete with Amazon style sales. Hard to provide proof of purchase or ownership for 60 70 year old chainsaws and parts. Not exactly the wind in my sales I am looking for.

Hardly. They only ask for proof of purchase in very specific situations, which is usually when a seller suddenly lists a large number of types of items (often high-priced and/or brand new) that they don't have a previous history of selling. If I were to suddenly start listing numerous pieces of expensive jewelry for sale, for example, I would most likely get asked for receipts/proof of purchase as well because I don't usually sell much jewelry and I DEFINITELY don't usually sell expensive jewelry.

I had that happen to me within a month or two of starting my store. No idea what it was for, but within a very short time period they reinstated my account. I had no repercussions from the temporary restriction.

There is hope !!

You wrote that you shipped the last 2 items after being paid and then said you do not have the payment. YOu do have the payment but Ebay is holding it. Whenever ebay holds the payment, you can still print the shipping label through Ebay shipping. Ebay will unfreeze the exact amount of the postage.
Anyway, provide ebay with the details that they are asking. Goodluck.

Actually, or do we have the payment? I have always considered that as soon as an item sells and you get the notice that the item has been paid for, then I have been paid (though funds not yet dispersed).
However, our monthly account statements AND our year end 1099's only reflect funds that have been dispersed (ie: your actual income).
So while I DO believe that we have been paid as soon as an item is paid for, ebay's bookkeeping says different. Just something to ponder. 😁

You go from selling cheap sports cards to a bunch of expensive chainsaw parts does look a little odd.

Maybe the last few months .. I have been buying and selling chainsaw parts off and on for years. Not all sellers do this for a living or full time. I am liquidating my personal collection.. every auction listed starting at a dollar. So how do I go about selling a collection so it doesn't seem odd ? One item every month for years ?

I have seen several posts like yours on this forum and it is the most ludicrous eBay can make of a seller. If the seller has in fact followed eBay processes the information they are requesting they already have access to. The tracking information should be on every order and the feedback is questionable since only about 20% of buyers are leaving feedback these days.
At least you go the easy request and not the one receipts request that stainlessenginecovers mentioned. Provide them with what they requested and while you are waiting for them to restore your account look around for other selling venues and ecommerce options.

Yes last 2 items buyer paid for. Funds have note saying not available until May 7th.
"HAVING payment "is when funds are deposited in my account. Not on hold until May 7th.
Providing tracking for cheap items sent letter mail is not going to be possible. 90 percent of sports cards I purchase do not come with tracking.
I didn't not understand that sellers were required to have tracking on every item ! I have always been prepared to refund a buyer if item value was low enough. All items with higher value have been insured and tracked.

Have you tried reaching out to eBay for Business on Facebook? Use the message button on their facebook page? I have found that to be the most effective way to resolve issues. The reps that handle their social media interactions I believe are actual employees and not offshore call centers reading from a script.
I have had the most success across the board with many businesses by contacting them through SM than call centers. I had to go through FB to get my elderly parents wheelchair assistance in an airport when the airline phone rep would not even speak to me regarding the reservation that I had ALL the information about because I was not one of the travelers. I did not want to change anything about the reservation other than my dad neglected to select special assistance when making an emergency last minute reservation.

But they said upload tracking so if your just mailing them out with no tracking this is a red flag.
