Up until a few days ago Ebay was a great partner in removing unwarranted negative feedback. I never had to use any curtessy removals. Now when an ad specifically states an issue and shows an issue, the buyer can still leave negative feedback for exactly what the ad states. Opinion that goes directly against fact is defamitory and a lie. Ebay needs to go back to helping its sellers. We have been 100% Ebay sellers until now,

What "curtessy" (courtesy?) removals?

Can you explain how just dinging TRS in order to get free items would work, exactly?

If the buyer left feedback for exactly what the ad states, that does not go against fact, it is not defamatory, and it is not a lie. It is simply restating exactly what the the ad states.
Using negative feedback to restate exactly what the the ad states has never qualified a feedback for removal. If eBay has always removed that sort of feedback for you, then you have been incredibly fortunate.
Negative feedback for an item that is as described?
...what in the what now?

eBay will remove negative feedback as a courtesy for sellers of a certain level.
But it’s not never ending. There is a limit.
Looking at your feedback and seeing the number of neutral feedback, I think you have been using this ‘courtesy removal’ for every negative you ever receive. You must have used up your allowance.
I will try to find the thread from a few weeks ago that addresses this. If I find it, it will be added to this thread.

Yeah if you look at all the neutral feedback there is definitely a strong pattern of people receiving items in worse shape than what is in the picture.
OP, you should definitely not photograph something that's in Better condition and then send a different one that's in worse condition. That's a recipe for a lot of negative feedback.

Ebay has completely ended courtesy removals as of 2 days ago. We never had to use a courtesy removal. Any removals we had were warranted.

I would say the buyer got what they paid for but I find it confusing as the listing states you have sold 56 of these. Are you using a generic damaged photo as I see the same item up for sale.

That has to be it. There are only 2 caps photographed and 56 have been sold.
Only 2 caps photographed yet 4 are currently available for sale.
It is almost impossible that this buyer received a cap where "the exact condition was clearly shown in the pictures."
"Similar condition" doesn't always cut it when it comes to damaged goods.
My 2¢

Yes they do, but the feedback has to break one of the Ebay rules, the neg you have doesn't and that is why you can't get it removed. I know that stings, I've got a couple myself. But they are just something we have to deal with.

Anchor Store sellers use to be able to get up to 10 negative FB removed just for asking ever 90 days, or something like that. Ebay has stopped this practice to my understanding.

I completely agree with you. I have two that the buyer never even told me there was an issue. Neither are willing to discuss anything as I would be happy to work with them and resolve whatever they feel the issue is, but they have no desire to do so. Their FB does not break any rule, so I can't have it removed.

You feel it is "unwarranted" but that doesn't mean the buyer or Ebay have the same opinion. Ebay did not do a "courtesy removal" for most sellers, just those with Anchor stores and above, but they have stopped that practice recently.
REach out to your buyer with a very polite and professional email and ask them to explain the issue so you can get it worked out. If they are receptive, then work with them to fix whatever problem there is. AFTER that is done ask them if they would be willing to revise their feedback. Don't do that before you resolve the issue, ONLY after. If they say OK, then let them know that Ebay will send them an email and in that email is a link to make this process really easy for them.
These emails have a self life. So never send one to a buyer without them knowing it is coming first and letting them know it is an email from Ebay not you, otherwise they may overlook it. Since it is only good for a few days, if it expires, you can't send another one on the same transaction.

EXCELLENT advice. That is the only way to get the FB removed. GOOD post !!!

Contact eBay on Facebook - a buyer can not categorically state ''ltem was Fake'' in feedback as they are not experts nor authenticators. This is classed as defamatory feedback
Send a private message. Include user ID, email, phone, and a brief message.

The negative the OP received didn't say anything about a "fake".
