I sold a jersey and had the item packed up ready to be shipped. The buying contacted me and wanted some clarification, which was pictures. I reopened the item and sent pictures to the buyer. I soon started getting rude Emails from the buyer , saying I was hiding something and was concerned the item was a fake. Please remember I sent pictures and I assumed that the buyer did receive them. As I assumed his comments were based on the pictures he received, the conversation escalated. I decided just to cancel the transaction , where then the buyer left me a wonderful negative feed back.
It was till after him gloating about the feed back, that I learned he did not receive the pictures. I resent the picture3 more time. Still didn't receive them. Finally I tried to send one at a time. He finally got them and said, yes this jersey looks correct.
WELL DAMAGE DONE..Thanks Ebay

Wow. That 500 character FB thingee is brutal when you see the sea of ink.
Always tempting to respond to it as soon as received, but waiting and formulating a really good/best reply when not emotional, is the way to go.
Perhaps in a few days when your buyer is not as upset, you can try asking them to remove? Long shot, certainly, but would still try. Especially if his last email to you finally states the pix show it was authentic.
So very sorry. He thought you were ripping him off - I don't think I would have cancelled so quickly, but easy for me to say, was not in the back and forth. Too bad cooler heads did not prevail.

You went the EXTRA mile for the buyer and only to have eBay's closely monitor like the KGB messaging system worked it's UGLY magic. I'm guessing that the messaging bots blocked your pics because of triggering a out of eBay deal red flag??? Idk. eBay has slowly MICRO managed everything to prevent outside of eBay deals and losing those precious FEES, while making the seller's selling experience MISERABLE.
Today's selling on eBay is INSUFFERABLE at times.

Don't worry, when you relist the jersey (after blocking the jerk buyer) you'll get more $$$$ it the second time around. Negative feedback happens, don't let it get to you. We can tell you are a legit & honourable seller since you care about 1 negative. Its the people that have dozens of negatives & don't care that are the ones to watch for.

When he said the jersey looks correct, was he calm? If so, yea request that he revise the feedback after he received it and confirmed with you that he's satisfied with the item (hopefully by then he'd be more calm).
BTW, I love how ebay puts the buyer's neg feedback in bold letters but removed the bold letters in your response. It kinda even looks like your reply has a smaller font size.
Oh yea, personally I'd block that buyer just for his temper. Don't need to deal with a buyer who flies off the handle so easily.

Yea , after all the smoke cleared he calmed down, but feedback is in place.
Below is his message after realizing the error on ebays part. We need to be able to give EBAY some feed back scores. See how they like it.
Yes and I apologize if you did As eBay isn’t coming through I will contact them and if can work if out cause I do want the jersey just eBay is stupid as hell and I’ll contact them to remove my feedback once send info to my e info

How many characters can be used for feedback now? I remember when it was something like 45. I've been on here way too long!

We're now allowed an entire feedback novel- 500 characters. Brilliant change, really. 🙄

Did you ask him whether he viewed the photos before "escalating" the conversation and canceling the transaction?

@jersey..authentixFrom my experience, ebay CS will not agree to remove or change a feedback just because the buyer contacts them with that request... yes I know it's stupid.
They will likely instruct the buyer to contact the seller (you) to file a formal feedback revision request, which automatically gets sent to the buyer for them to take care of online.

Yikes! That neg FB is no longer a red donut but a full blown red devil cake!! Oh man that 500 characters....let the games begin!

Personally, I like it. If you get a neg at least you have a better venue to explain your self. The 45 letter one before didnt give much

Contact eBay and get the feedback removed. I don't like the fact that the buyer's feedback was in bold and your response couldn't be. Definitely contact eBay to get it removed.

And you did a nice job of replying to that neg. I'm just concern of the fire storm this is going to create with some buyers. You've seen them here on the forum, some are just so angry at the world.
I think 500 characters is a bit to much but I do understand what your saying also. I sure hope you get this matter taken care of, this is really unfortunate.

I agree, the following reply would've been much better (just an example):
I am so sorry we could not communicate effectively, please allow us a chance to make it right, if you could contact us and tell us what we can do to improve I would much appreciate that, thank you and sorry again, have a nice day.
