Ebay is protecting a thief who stole my cards, admitted to selling them on ebay

This is one for the ages .. I never in my life thought that ebay would be this way . I had a person who stole 1000's of dollars of sports cards from . One of them was a 1/1 that I had listed on ebay . This guy has a record and their is a case number for this theft . He has even been charged in regards to the matter .

I have been selling on ebay for years and have nothing but good reviews . He just started selling on ebay less than a year ago ,,, coincidence ? His reviews are great because he is selling cards from my PC and also ones that I have listed ... he took all of the Burrow rookies, Josh Allen Rookies, MJ and Lebron and multiple autos .  When I called ebay and asked for their help they were so mean to me it was awful . They treated me like I was a lunatic . When I told them he was involving innocent people and that the stolen property would have to be returned the woman I spoke with said  "well we have the ebay guarantee so they will get their money back" .

Ebay said they would look into it .. they have not contacted me back for any information nor have they contacted the detective handling the case . Don't ever expect ebay to take this seriously because they don't want to .. it would be a loss of sales . I am an attorney and once the criminal matter is concluded I am going to address the matter with ebay civil court . I can prove multiple civil wrongs because they have a duty to me and their customers . EVERYONE beware ebay will not take the sale of stolen items seriously because they don't want to lose business nor pay people for their purchase of stolen goods . If anyone has any questions contact me directly or ask on this chat . I have absolutely nothing to hide . In closing every time I see a glowing review of one of my stolen items he sold it is heart wrenching .

How did the buyer steal the cards?

Or how did the seller steal the cards?

Were you paid your asking price for the cards?

Did they dropship them from you to other buyers at a markup?

How was this theft done?

I'm not understanding that part.  I'm old...👵

eBay is not in the business of law enforcement.    They no more take action against #1 based on #2s

accusations than they (ebay)  would take action against #2  based on #1s accusations.

Theft is a crime.    It something that should be reported and investigated by the appropriate

  authorities.

What should ebay do?   Take the word of one person against another?  He said,  she said,  he said more,  She said even more.   Who to believe?

Got ripped off?   Call a cop.    Somebody steal your cards?   Call a cop    Been defrauded and had

Mail theft committed against you?    Call a cop.

eBay should do something to protect us?    They do,  Get an ebay employee that knows anything

and they'll tell you to  Call a cop.

I take a look at this guys seller account and what do I see, ALL OF MY CARDS HE OPENED INRs on he has newly listed for sale.”

Contact the authorities to report the stolen goods.  According to the guidelines in the policy (see link below), eBay will work with them to deal with the problem. So very sorry this happened to you.

"...This buyer/seller opens a INR on the other labels effected by the glitch, mind all labels where shipped at the same time and date.  I take a look at this guys seller account and what do I see, ALL OF MY CARDS HE OPENED INRs on he has newly listed for sale..."

Believable, yes...

provable? I don't know (do you?)

This scenario (which is explained better than the OP original lawyer jibberish) is 2 distinct cases....

1st....you need to prove they are "stolen"

2nd...once you have proof (in the form of a judgement/police report) that they are stolen and can present it as fact, ebay has an obligation to remove said item(s) dictated by their own policies.......

sorry this has happened to you....good luck

I don't think people are trying to take shots at the first poster. I don't think there is enough information in the original post to know exactly what happened.

If the happened to him as to what happened to you, I can only imagine how frustrating that would be.

I am an attorney (lol 🤣) and once the criminal matter is concluded I am going to address the matter with ebay civil court .

....and I'm the Judge who just tossed out your case. Oops.

Ebay has a civil court?

Yes, eBay does have a civil court.  They call in Judge Judy once a month to officiate.

Oblivious he's not an attorney.

For being an attorney you have very poor skills in explaining your case and the facts associated with it. Is this your first case?

It took me a year and dozens of hours of hard work to get a fraudster off here who was so easy to spot by anyone with any knowledge of art that it was breathtaking how long he got away with it, and how many hundreds of thousands of dollars he defrauded buyers of....all with a 100% feedback score!

I only finally succeeded in getting rid of the seller when I somehow actually got a V.P. at corporate to pick up and listen to me for ten minutes.  No one else below that level seemed to really care or have any power to deal with corruption.

But not that "seller from Michigan" you've posted about in other threads, right? That account is still up and running. This is yet another seller you've taken down?

Then you know how  to deal  with this in the courts.  Should a lawyer even be ranting about it in a public forum?

Uh no, it also happens be against the law to represent oneself as an attorney when one is not attorney but who's counting?

They did it to me too! eBay came back & told me that because I didn’t have the item number or the email that he was using that they wouldn’t help me! Problem is that the thief is was & has been my brother & his wife! I told them I can give you his complete/full name birthdate where he was born & all addresses that he has lived etc! They still Wouldn’t Help me!
