Ebay indefinitely banned me from selling

I have used ebay all my life, my account is nearly 18 years old now and i have over 800 positive feedbacks from being a buyer. 

About 15 years ago i was selling an old phone on ebay. I had sold a few things on ebay before and i always shipped promptly and did things above board for my buyers. With this particular sale , the buyer sent me a message shortly after buying and asked to change the address, back then we were pretty naive to the ebay scams. The buyer reached out to me before i shipped the product so it was no issue . I shipped the phone to the new address as soon as it was delivered the buyer disputed the sale then ebay told me i shipped it to the wrong unverified addressed and refunded the buyer. Shortly after ebay suspended my seller account indefinitely. Ebay support has been of no help ive called them many times over the years to see if i could straighten this out . I dont even care about getting scammed for the phone , what hurts more is i havent been able to sell on ebay for the last 15 years. 

Anyone have advice to get my account unrestricted? I have a lot of old pokemon cards i want to list and ebay is the best marketplace. I've tried calling ebay support but they are generally unhelpful and cant even tell me why my account was restricted.

No sorry. If your account has been restricted from selling for 15 years then it's more than likely permanent.

What probably happened is that it was NOT the buyer who sent the message and asked you to change the address. It was a scammer and your real buyer never got the item.

Scammers watch for sold items and contact sellers pretending to be the buyer and requesting the address change. 

By shipping to a different address, the scammer got the free item, the real buyer got nothing and you lost your money and the item -- and now, your ability to sell on ebay.

     EBay seldom suspends sellers for a single infraction unless it is blatant violation of one of their policies so the sale of the phone probably had nothing to do with the suspension. Customer support is pretty much useless these days and this issue being 15 years old they may not even have any idea of the reason for the suspension. 

     Given it's been 15 years there would be a LOT of issues with your old account which was probably not set up under Managed Payments. PayPal is gone as the financial processor, you get paid through an established link to your personal checking account............. 

     I would try to setup a new account from scratch and see if you run into any issues. If you do maybe eBay can provide additional information or insight as to what the current issues are. If you do manage to establish a new account and can begin listing items there have been a LOT of changes in the last 15 years.

This can only be handled by eBay.   They restricted you and they have the keys and information to your account issues.  

If you have contacted them numerous times they must have given you some indication and information about how and why you were restricted and what your options are.  

What did they tell you? Did they give you any information to lead you to believe that you could sell again?

I would not open a new account as it would be suspended as well.

The one transaction you described would not have had anything to do with your account getting restricted back then.  There had to be other things that happened.  But since it was so long ago, you might have forgotten about them.

Unfortunately there is nothing any of us can do to help you.  You need to contact Ebay directly as they are the only ones that can help you.  They will be able to figure out why you got restricted and if that restriction is still in play.  It may take a few attempts to get the info you seek, but you need to work with Ebay to find a resolution.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

Use the "most recent" filter.  There are a few out of stock and items not shipped mentioned, and some positive comments with negative remarks about item quality.

Nothing to be done here, as everyone has stated, your selling days are gone forever...  your positive feedbacks as a buyer are irrelevant, as buyers can only receive positive FB.  As a buyer, you've handed out an awful lot of red donuts though.

There are a few feedback comments/responses that suggest that the OP was dropshipping from Asia in the past.  I'm willing to bet that the suspension had more to do with the handling of those sales but the cellphone SNAFU was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Not the inanest thing they have done, but it ranks right up there on the chart.

You have to change that new Sort By field to Most Recent.  They have 85 FB as a seller.
