This is unacceptable. I have sold things at least as early as 5/3/2021, yet ebay has removed ALL data on ALL of the transactions prior to 5/27/2021. How am I supposed to do my taxes? How am I supposed to even know anything?

@lightningden Ah - no wonder. You'll need to log into your Paypal account to download the dates prior to induction into managed payments. I had to do that for my 2020 taxes as I went into MP in July 2020 - I had half from managed payment downloads and half from Paypal. Paypal data was not carried over into managed payments.

Go to your monthly reports. It's all there.

I don't depend on Ebay to keep track of all the information for me.
I keep track of everything through the year and at tax time I have all my numbers.

I just started adding everything from the year into my spreadsheet, and knew I sold a few things that weren't there. So I went to my emails, sure enough, I had emails about listings being sold, that did not appear in ebay's logs. At the very least, they should keep the records for the previous tax year.
Telling me what I should have done, does no good for me at this stage.

Can you explain how to get to there
08-17-2021 01:27 PM
Nevermind, I think I got there. Downloaded a CVS, and it also has none of the data prior to 5/27/2021.

I still have the 'paper trail' (and data files) of everything I've bought and sold on ebay since I started in 1998. Didn't trust someone else to keep track of my records then, and sure wouldn't trust someone else to keep track of them now.

You guys, I get that in the future, I need to keep track on my own. That does not help me get the information I need now though.

Perhaps the earlier transactions were under the Paypal domain. When you do your 2021 taxes you will rely on information from both eBay's managed payments and Paypal. The earlier sales info should be easily accessed in your Paypal acount. Print it out now and add it to your receipt collection.

Keep track of the thread. If someone that has knowledge of a way to get back further, they should be along when they get a chance.
Hope you have good luck.

@lightningden Go to your "payments" tab in seller hub, click on "reports" - you can change the date range to whatever you want. It takes a little while (depending on how far back you go) but a report will be generated in an excel file and you can just download it. I just downloaded a report that went back to March.

I am there, it does not give me any date options, it only gives me a "download" button, which seems to go back as far as my orders history in ebay does.

@lightningden Are you by chance looking at your seller dashboard for this total? If so, move the bar at the bottom of the pop-up box to the left and you can see prior to May.

If you can't get it from ebay, you can from Go Daddy..........just need to sign up for a month........it can go back to all of 2020, including paypal and MP....... perhaps before that, I can't remember.

I go to Seller -> Reports. I discovered how to find the date range, but the date range won't allow going back further than May 27, 2021. I know for certain I sold things now as early as March 2021. There is just no way to do it through ebay.
