It is sad what Ebay has become, we are a seller of 18 years with 100% feedback over 2000+ reviews, and it seems blatantly obvious that instead of looking out for our best interest, Ebay is more concerned with protecting FRAUDSTERS and SCAMMERS!
In the past 30 days on now 4 different occasions, a buy with an Ebay account opened less than a month has purchased out Hot Tub Supplies. Once the item was receieved, the SCAMMER made FRADULENT CLAIMS to open a RETURN. Once the return was in fact approved, the SCAMMER returned WORTHLESS JUNK, one time was a PIECE OF PAPER another time was PIECES OF PLASTICS.
Each time we received these items, we photographed everything, pictures of the unopened return showing the return tracking # and then pictures of us opening the item and then pictures of the contents.
Now in 2 of the 4 cases Ebay has denied our reimbursement claims because "somehow" we didn't prove that the "PIECE OF PAPER" sent to us, was not a hot tub product and we did not prove that it was sent by a SCAMMER.
At this point, we will have no choice but after 18 YEARS we will be REMOVING OUR PRODUCTS from Ebay. WHAT A TOTAL SHAME!!!

" As a group, the Mentor's have asked Ebay that very questions and we have repeatedly been told no. But you of course have the right to believe whatever works for you."
LOL.... do you also still believe the 51 ex intelligent officials that say Hunter's laptop is fake Russian disinformation? The evidence is crystal clear and I never knew it was not common knowledge that at least the "first" go at a claim was handled by a "bot"....or AI. This is a major reason why I would not even consider having become a "mentor" here.
Now...not to "excuse" Ebay on this but the real culprit in this entire mess is AMAZON (aided by a Wuhan lab).....they created an all new online world where their lax policies have lead to rampant fraud across every online platform. There are many articles out there that they too are tired of it and trying to figure out what to do. My suggestion to them all is to form a cooperative where "standards" are set and they all work on the same return policies. Also set other standards and include the feds (and yes, I hate the feds so this is not said easily) for prosecuting these criminals (even in California). There has to be something done on this issue.

If you have the time and desire to persevere, I would reach out to eBay on Facebook(eBay for business) and deal with some better customer service than you get with the call back line. It will take a while, but eventually eBay will come to their senses and eat it. Especially since you got 2 out of 4 already. Get whatever evidence you can to submit to them, and pursue it.

This happened to us 4 times. The buyers purchased products over $200 and shipped back a plastic paper clip.
The return reasons were incorrect item shipped, damaged product received. We take pictures of all products shipped on a Ipad in shipping department with the packing slip.
Ebay helped us with every problem. We reported the buyer and called in to work with an Ebay specialist.
Just a heads up-these thieves get refunded by Ebay then file a creditcard charge back to triple dip the system. We alos notified them of the multiple orders which happened in a 2 week window.
Ebay was there to help and sorted us out.

Appeals of any claim is NOT processed by AI. A real person handles those.
I should have been more precise in my original post.
I'm referring to an idea, a concept (the "need to be believed").
As far as INADs go, I have no doubt whatsoever that in due course, those will in fact be handled by almost exclusively by computers, if many are not being so handled already. I imagine that there are at least tens of thousands of INADs daily. That's a lot of people to pay.
Not only would it be relatively easy to program; taking the human element out of resolving INADs would put the burden increasingly on the seller, which is consonant with what I perceive to be a general trend on the platform to tighten up seller standards.
Unfortunately, reputable sellers like the OP inevitably will get caught in the crossfire. I expect that I will too.
It's a matter of time before any one of us gets unfairly whacked, isn't it?
As I tried to explain, AI is not arbitrating INADs. As a group, the Mentor's have asked Ebay that very questions and we have repeatedly been told no. But you of course have the right to believe whatever works for you.
The basic functions of a claim are very likely automatic per the rules that govern the policy. But as to arbitrating a claim, that at least is still with a real human. Of course things change all the time, but I don't think this one is changing anytime soon.
Madam, I too have ingested the eBay Kool Aid. Hundreds of gallons of it over a quarter century, in fact.
But I have retained an ability to analyze and synthesize bits of information from disparate sources and come to independent conclusions.
And I would never, ever relinquish my freedom to make judgments to an authority as dubious as that which runs this place.
I'm willing to have a conversation with you, but please be civil. The rudeness and condescending attitude stops here or the conversation does.
I never said, suggested or implies that you or anyone else needed to "relinquish my [your] freedom to make judgments to an authority...".
You nor anyone else needs to agree with anything I have said. I just provided you with information I received. You seem to need to twist it into something else simply because you don't agree or like what I said. Why some posters have the need to do this simply because they disagree is beyond odd and certainly unnecessary. We don't all have to agree on stuff. It simply isn't a requirement.

I take no issue with those that disagree, but since you weren't there during the conversation, your preconceived ideas are what is supporting your opinion. Laugh all you want. IDK what Hunter's laptop has to do with this conversation, bringing that up says far more about you though.
I don't come here an lie to anyone. You are welcome to your opinions and beliefs, but be respectful. How you think or see things is not the ONLY way to see things or think about stuff.
It is likely that you are making assumptions about the Mentor's team.

Is there by chance that these "buyers" are using freight forwarders? The addresses are usually but not limited to Florida, Oregon, Deleware etc. You can google them to see if they show a commercial business.
If so, there may be hope for you.

No my best guess is the addresses are legitimate customers who actually bought (in our case) hot tub products and no nothing about the returns and have nothing to do with.
I think they list the item for say $80 somewhere, collect the $80 from a legitimate customer, then go to us and buy it for $92 (not caring bc ebay will give that back) we ship the item to "their legitimate customer". Customer receives item, think no more, no less than these jerks open a case about **bleep**, print a "return label" which we fund and as soon as scanned delivered they get their money back. Maybe a "prepaid debit" or something like that and as soon as money's returned, they buy something else, drain the card and ebay had no recourse in the rare event they even try to claw money back. Most times it's just sellers fault anyway....

Could you please check if that one in particular is from Newark, DE. ? The one with the multicolor plastic pebbles?
I am going to share some interesting stuff with you, but I need to know that particular fact first.

Well its far easier to believe a seller when they have been here for years and amassed a large positive feedback amount, vs a 0 fb / very low and unknown buyer. Such sellers do not just chuck years of long hard work building their good reputation to decide they want to destroy it by screwing a couple of buyers on a couple orders.

So you're much more in favor of many, many scammers with 0 fb clearly abusing the system because ebay and people with your mindset are ok with this and not fixing it.
